Do you feel trapped in your current role? Do you spend too much time working on cookie-cutter projects that don't help you grow? Are you looking for a role that will challenge you and provide you with an opportunity to work on diverse projects? Do you dream of a position where you have the opportunity to take ownership of your projects and work with the client to develop innovative designs to meet their needs?
We are currently looking for a civil engineer who is hungry for challenging and meaningful work. In this role, you'll have the chance to make a positive impact on the environment, participate in a range of diverse and unique initiatives, and find the support, coaching, and training you need to advance your career - all while working with a great team of people who encourage new ideas and innovative approaches. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment or a remote for the right candidate. Ideally, we would like the candidate to be near the Boise, Idaho; Madison, Wisconsin, or Overland Park, Kansas office.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
Our Facilities Division seeks a mid-level Civil Engineer to join our team. Our group specializes in high-performing projects with a focus on the future in food and beverage, Federal, and industrial facility design. Our goal is to deliver excellent projects hand-in-hand with a positive experience for our clients and our communities alike. You'll be asked to help grading and drainage design for new building sites, remodels, and additions as well as provide utility delivery, access road design, permitting, and construction support.
**Here are a few things you can expect:**
+ A major component of our design process relies on terrain modeling software; in particular, the use of AutoCAD Civil3D is one of the integrated collaboration tools used in communicating 3-D design to our project teams, owners and construction professionals
+ There is a lot of latitude for decision making; we're not interested in micromanaging
+ We expect everyone on the team to assume ownership for the project's goals and success
+ When it comes to quality, we don't joke around. Each and every project goes through a thorough QA/QC process. You will not simply be drawing lines and doing math, but will be expected to be self-motivated to deliver your best so as not to disappoint our clients - or your team members
+ Compensation for this role is an hourly wage. You will get paid for each hour you work
**Required Education/Experience**
+ Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering
+ Candidate should have 5-10 years of experience and be able to perform work requiring independent judgment, adaptation/modification of engineering principles, procedures, and code requirements
+ PE License preferred - financial bonus for California PE
+ Experience in at least one of the following disciplines: land development, municipal utility design, water resources, or environmental engineering
+ Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and other side development related designs
+ Desire to learn to lead projects with senior oversight and mentoring
+ Must be effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines, while also adapting to change
+ Must be adaptable, able to problem solve, and able to learn and apply new technologies with senior support
+ Good oral and written communication skills with cross-disciplinary team members
+ Demonstrated ability to self-manage and produce results
+ Ability to maintain and develop relationships with both existing and potential clients and recognize their needs, respond to and build on responsibilities accordingly
**Ideal candidate will also have:**
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D or Microstation Inroads
+ Experience with HydroCAD, AutoDesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis, HEC-RAS, HydraFlow or similar stormwater modeling software
+ Foundation design experience
