**Position Description:**
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures and handling a wide variety of matters in the field. The position is normally, but not necessarily preparatory to becoming an Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose of the position is to proactively aid the Superintendent in front-line field management. In addition, the position requires a considerable amount of work, responsibility, persistence, problem solving ability and good attitude, because the FE is responsible for the majority of the layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, as well as lift drawings, safety, and quality control responsibilities. Although the majority of a Field Engineer's time will be spent in the field, there are some duties which will require work in the field office. This is a safety sensitive position.
**Position Qualifications:**
+ A 4 -year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management.
+ Valid Driver's License.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
+ Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including all embedded items, before placement of concrete.
+ Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for the weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
+ Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners as delegated by the project superintendent. May include directing a small work force to gain supervisory experience.
+ Coordinate material deliveries by checking material requirements in advance and comparing with the delivery status. Additionally, inspect materials delivered to the job for quantity, quality and condition, and report on missing and/or damaged items.
+ Assist foremen and trade partners with interpretation of plans and specifications.
+ Oversight of trade partners, as assigned, and direction of workforces (e.g., a labor crew) of employees or trade partner employees to gain supervisory experience.
+ Participate in jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety audits, etc.
+ Collaborate with the VDC team on VDC scope of work, execution plan and deliverables related to field operations. Review and navigate within the current 3D model viewing and scheduling software.
**Physical Work Classification & Demands:**
Moderate Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and office activity.
+ Walking - The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, boxes, cabinets, etc.
+ Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, computer, and computer printer.
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and external stakeholders regarding a variety of topics related to office administration.
+ Constantly computes, analyzes, and conceptualizes mathematical calculations and formulas.

The Field Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the superintendent by exercising judgment, implementing policies and procedures, and handling various matters in the field. This position proactively aids in front-line field management, requiring significant responsibility, problem-solving ability, and a positive attitude. The Field Engineer is integral to project layout, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, and ensuring safety and quality control.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct project layout (surveying) in accordance with design and contract documents.
+ Verify accuracy and adequacy of concrete forms before concrete placement, including all embedded items.
+ Perform production trend analysis for work quantities and report for weekly and monthly schedule and cost control.
+ Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives, and coordination of trade partners as directed by the project superintendent.
+ Coordinate material deliveries, inspect materials for quantity and quality, and report any discrepancies.
+ Assist foreman and trade partners with interpreting plans and specifications.
+ Oversee assigned trade partners and direct workforces to gain supervisory experience.
+ Participate in job site safety meetings and weekly safety audits.
+ Coordinate during project schedule development and review construction drawings and specifications.
+ Perform civil and structural constructability analysis and assist in field engineering related RFIs.
+ Verify control points and benchmarks established by third-party licensed surveyor and attend subcontractor coordination meetings.
+ Compile field engineering specific as-builts and turnover documentation, and assist with project closeout documentation.
+ Enforce compliance with field engineering personnel and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Trimble GPS, Carlson Survey, and blueprint interpretation.
+ Experience with robotics such as Trimble S5 and modeling software like Carlson Survey and Bluebeam (4+ years).
+ OSHA 10 certification.
+ Ability to interpret and verify construction drawings across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP disciplines.
+ Deep understanding of civil and structural systems for constructability analysis.
+ Knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and utility systems integration with civil plans.
+ Familiarity with foundation systems, including piers, grade beams, slab edges, depressions, and block-outs.
+ Experience with surveying and establishing control points and benchmarks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to verify elevations, lines, and grades for foundations, utilities, and structural elements.
+ Proficiency in verifying anchor bolts, embeds, slab edges, and structural alignment.
+ Experience ensuring MEP leave-outs and penetrations align with drawings and field conditions.
Work Environment
The Field Engineer will work Monday through Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The role includes access to mileage reimbursement during contract terms, with the provision of a company truck upon direct hire.

**Position Description:**
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures and handling a wide variety of matters in the field. The position is normally, but not necessarily preparatory to becoming an Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose of the position is to proactively aid the Superintendent in front-line field management. In addition, the position requires a considerable amount of work, responsibility, persistence, problem solving ability and good attitude, because the FE is responsible for the majority of the layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, as well as lift drawings, safety, and quality control responsibilities. **Position Qualifications:**
+ A 4 -year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management.
+ Valid Driver's License.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
+ Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including all embedded items, before placement of concrete.
+ Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for the weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
+ Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners as delegated by the project superintendent. May include directing a small work force to gain supervisory experience.
+ Coordinate material deliveries by checking material requirements in advance and comparing with the delivery status. Additionally, inspect materials delivered to the job for quantity, quality and condition, and report on missing and/or damaged items.
+ Assist foremen and trade partners with interpretation of plans and specifications.
+ Oversight of trade partners, as assigned, and direction of workforces (e.g., a labor crew) of employees or trade partner employees to gain supervisory experience.
+ Participate in jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety audits, etc.

**Position Description:**
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures and handling a wide variety of matters in the field. The position is normally, but not necessarily preparatory to becoming an Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose of the position is to proactively aid the Superintendent in front-line field management. In addition, the position requires a considerable amount of work, responsibility, persistence, problem solving ability and good attitude, because the FE is responsible for the majority of the layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, as well as lift drawings, safety, and quality control responsibilities. Although the majority of a Field Engineer's time will be spent in the field, there are some duties which will require work in the field office. This is a safety sensitive position.
**Position Qualifications:**
+ A 4 -year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management.
+ Valid Driver's License.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required.
**Essential Duties:**
+ Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
+ Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including all embedded items, before placement of concrete.
+ Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for the weekly and monthly schedule and cost control reports.
+ Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners as delegated by the project superintendent. May include directing a small work force to gain supervisory experience.
+ Coordinate material deliveries by checking material requirements in advance and comparing with the delivery status. Additionally, inspect materials delivered to the job for quantity, quality and condition, and report on missing and/or damaged items.
+ Assist foremen and trade partners with interpretation of plans and specifications.
+ Oversight of trade partners, as assigned, and direction of workforces (e.g., a labor crew) of employees or trade partner employees to gain supervisory experience.
+ Participate in jobsite safety meetings, weekly safety audits, etc.
