Engineering Technician performs diverse and complex assignments in support of product development. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting results of tests and measures. Key responsibilities/essential functions include: Utilizing initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models. Perform basic trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions. Perform software and hardware evaluation and implement plans using knowledge of product, system operation, intermodule interactions, engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required. Utilize basic technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability. Provide evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of internal and external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation. Develop and execute training plans as required Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.
Required Qualifications:
1. Associates Degree, or High School diploma and 2 years technical experience
2. Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and occasionally system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques.
3. Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process.

Overview
Maintain all building related systems and the building envelop to ensure the safety of hotel guests, associates, and vendors. Ensure compliance with company Engineering Assumptions/Culture, preventative maintenance programs and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Mission Vision and Values as well as all Building/Fire/Health Department codes. Maintain building complex as energy efficiency as possible constantly looking for ways to save energy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care").
- Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
- Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist on major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
- Maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
- Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
- Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Operation of heavy machinery.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required in 1 or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
- Experience with laundry and kitchen equipment preferred.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Specialist to support ship design projects within our marine engineering team. This role focuses on the design, integration, and analysis of shipboard electrical systems in compliance with ABS rules and standards, as well as other relevant maritime codes (e.g., SOLAS, IEEE, IEC). The ideal candidate will have direct experience with marine power generation and distribution systems, control and automation systems, navigation electronics, and shipboard communication networks. Responsibilities include developing detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and cable routing plans, supporting the specification, integration, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, and collaborating with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and shipyard personnel throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Able to skillfully complete products with little to no supervision or technical oversight.
- When confronted with change, actively controls scope creep, identifies the implication of change within group and downstream customers, and provides alternative. recommendations to immediate up and downstream customers to minimize impact.
- Anticipates roadblocks on assignments and mitigates their impact based on experience.
- Identifies and applies state of the art solutions to complex problems.
- Serves as focal point for discussing the organization's agreed technical position with external-to-engineering SMEs and representatives (such ABS surveyors, Production Superintendents, Managers, Deputy Ship Design Managers).
- Coordinates and facilitates working groups, including driving to decisions, and determining follow on actions.
- Identifies needs for additional training/guidance for individuals in the team and the need for mentoring.
- Mentors the department on advanced technical principles, theories and concepts.
- Understands context for creation and prior applications of requirements (such as rules, regulations, contracts, and references) as well as requirements at the periphery of a given technical situation and related prior variations on those requirements.
- Uses creative and analytical methods to develop, evaluate, and communicate the configuration and characteristics of a region, system, or component of the ship as governed by the assigned discipline, in compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree, Professional Engineer's License, or equiv alent in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
- At least ten years of practical experience exclusive of education in engineering design. Operational or shipyard test or production experience may contribute to this requirement.
- Qualifying skills include contributing to the department's team environment with a consistently positive attitude, a mindset to actively seek improving one's self, teammates, and work processes, initiative, accountability, commitment, and flexibility to changing assignments and processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The essential functions of this role require work in both an office and industrial setting. The role requires prolonged periods of working in a stationary position, operating a computer, computer programs, and standard office equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. The role requires perceiving information and communicating effectively with others in person, online, and on the phone. The role also requires prolonged periods of working in indoor and outdoor industrial settings. Must have the ability to safely access, navigate, and traverse the shipyard, construction areas, production areas, ships, and warehouses. Must be able to transit uneven surfaces, and be agile to move quickly to avoid hazards and respond to unexpected obstacles. Must be able to observe, detect, identify, perceive, recognize, and process information to remain alert and timely comply with all safety requirements. Must be able to move, transport, and use equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. Duties performed on ships require ascending and descending stairs and ladders, transiting on scaffolding and at heights, transiting through manholes and other narrow, confined, or congested spaces. This position requires exposure to industrial areas which contain hazardous materials, loud noise (including sirens, horns, chipping, slamming, and hammering), dust, fumes, and exposure to weather.
PAY SCALE
$127,200 - $172,100
This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education. Position Overview
The Engineering Aide will serve as the central liaison for multiple Systems Engineering (SE) domains and design teams. This role coordinates technical interchange meetings, assembles and maintains engineering presentation packages for all major technical reviews, drives entry/exit criteria compliance, leads action‑tracking to ensure data‑product technical maturity, and partners with SE teams to continuously improve processes and procedures.

• Entry/Exit Criteria Management – Track verification of entry criteria, document exit criteria, secure sign‑offs, and maintain traceability in PLM/EDMS.
• Technical Meeting Leadership – Lead ad‑hoc technical meetings, moderate discussions, capture action items, assign owners, and monitor closure.
• Technical Maturity Assurance – Follow up on actions, validate Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and other maturity metrics; maintain dashboards for stakeholder visibility.
• Process Improvement & Procedure Support – Identify gaps, draft/revise procedures, checklists, and work instructions; provide brief training or reference guides.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Liaise with hardware, software, integration, test, and program‑management teams to align technical information.

Contract Engineer Specializing in Prototyping & Fabrication Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States Category: Science & Technology Class: Contractor, full-time, 6-month minimum contract (potential to convert to DuPont employee) INTRODUCTION The DuPont Silicon Valley Technology Center's (SVTC) Applications Engineering Laboratories are focused on supporting rapid prototyping and applications development for customer-driven projects, in addition to internal R&D initiatives. The laboratories serve a range of high impact business sectors, including advanced packaging and microfabrication, rigid and flexible printed circuit boards, thermal management, optics, and high-speed communication. THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES The engineer specializing in prototyping & fabrication is expected to be the on-site subject matter expert in a diverse range of prototyping and fabrication techniques, including the development of advanced and Client fabrication methods serving a diverse and dynamic project portfolio of applications development work typical for SVTC. Fabrication and prototyping methods will span chemical, mechanical, thermal, subtractive, and additive techniques. The successful candidate will lead fabrication components of critical projects and assist in the testing and characterization of fabricated products. KEY SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Engineer specializing in prototyping and fabrication techniques, including development of advanced/non-standard methods for unique applications • Adept at hands-on lab work, creative thinking, problem solving in a unique and fast-paced applications engineering laboratory environment • Ability to conduct hands-on experimental work, interpret data, and suggest modifications • Perform tasks and lead fabrication projects involving laminations, coatings, laser ablation, 3D printing, ion milling +SEM analysis, dispensing, CNC milling, large format routing, etc. • Lead additional prototyping and fabrication applications development initiatives relevant to strategic goals as they arrive • Work closely with team of engineers / technical specialists in support of a broad project portfolio, including optical, thermal, and mechanical characterization • Basic data analysis and statistics experience is expected • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member with a diverse group of people
QUALIFICATION PROFILE: • Required: B.S. degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or other curriculum that required significant hands-on training • Preferred: 1-3 years of post-degree hands-on experience working in a laboratory with fabrication/prototyping equipment • Experience with a diverse range of instruments, spanning chemical, mechanical, thermal characterization, and experience working with basic materials characterization and metrology equipment, such as stress-strain testers, confocal microscopes, SEMs, etc. is preferred • Preferred experience using CAD and CAM software, such as SolidWorks, including the ability to produced professional engineering drawings • Well organized, attention to detail, excellent presentation/communication skills • Curiosity and excitement to learn beyond assignments, excellent problem-solving skills
