General labor to assist Farm Manager and Farm Assistant Manager in achieving required work goals. This includes, but is not limited to, daily chores, running machinery and equipment, and handle and care for live turkeys. This position will require light paperwork, some math skills, walking on uneven surfaces frequently, lifting, twist, bending and squatting frequently and varying temperature environments.
**Principle Accountabilities** :
+ Help perform daily chores as assigned by farm management.
+ Assist with maintaining litter for optimal conditions for turkeys.
+ Record daily information in flock books for record keeping.
+ Operate machinery and equipment when required.
+ Follow all safety protocols and guidelines - wearing all required PPE ( safety glasses, respiratory equipment, etc).
+ Follow all Live Production processes and procedures.
+ Follow all biosecurity guidelines, including, but not limited to, showering before work each day, not wearing personal shoes on farm, using company provided boots on farm and in barns, wearing provided scrubs/coveralls in barns.
+ Perform other duties as instructed and assigned by management.
+ Handle and care for live turkeys in accordance with established animal welfare guidelines.
+ Have open communication with fellow employees and farm management.
+ Conduct self in a positive, team oriented manner.
**Minimum Qualification:**
+ Must have reliable means of transportation to and from assigned farm.
+ Good previous attendance records (school and/or previous employment).
+ Able to work 7 days/week with some varied hours and with some weekends and holidays.
+ Possess a level of math, reading, and writing skills necessary to successfully perform record keeping task required of the position.
+ Able to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to waist height frequently, with occasional lifts from floor to full extension.
+ Able to wear eye and respiratory protection equipment on a continuous basis.
+ Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Valid drivers license.
+ High school diploma, or actively enrolled in high school, or equivalent.

Primary Purpose: Mixes and packages company products. Maintains inventory levels and assists in shipping and receiving products and materials in the warehouse.

- Loads and unloads company trucks, common carriers and customer vehicles using forklift and other required equipment.

- Serves on company's in-plant or off-site emergency response team.
- Places hazardous materials or waste into appropriate containers.
- Receives, unloads and places into storage hazardous waste received from off-site generators; completes inspections and paperwork associated with receiving and storing hazardous waste.
- Accurately handles hazardous waste while inside container storage area or otherwise under company responsibility or controls.
- Prepares for shipment and loads hazardous waste destined for off-site recycling/disposal facilities; completes inspections and paperwork associated with shipping hazardous waste.
- Cleans and maintains warehouse and equipment.
- Adheres to company quality processes, as applicable.
- Assists to resolve product quality issues in an efficient and timely manner, as applicable.
- Performs all other duties as required.
- Aligns with all company policies, rules and guidelines.
- Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulations
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements as it pertains to FDARP as applicable to the facility
- Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment
- Ability to learn accurate methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training
- Ability to read, write, count, understand, and speak English
- Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 lb. net bags for short distances
- Physical ability to tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Test negative on the company's drug tests

**Summary**
+ Assist in maximizing the productivity of the breeding herd by making quality matings and meeting breeding targets
+ Assist in all aspects of farrowing to help meet weekly shipping targets of full-value pigs
+ Ensuring that ALL animals across the farm have received proper feed, water, ventilation, and bedding on a daily basis, and 100% of all NR protocol and guidelines are followed
+ Assisting with all other aspects of the farm to ensure farm goals are met and tasks are completed on a daily basis
**Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Properly carry out the heat checking and breeding protocol
+ Assist in animal movement and placement to ensure proper animal handling goals are met and sows/gilts are penned appropriately
+ Make seasonally appropriate adjustments to ventilation, bedding, and sprinklers
+ Maintenance and cleaning of waters, feeders, and pens
+ Complete proper procedures for Day-One pig care, fostering
+ Assist with processing and vaccination of piglets in accordance with company procedures
+ Assist with the treatment/care of sows across the farms
+ Assist in cleaning/bedding of farrowing and gestation pens; and clean-out and disinfecting farrowing room after weaning
+ Keep, communicate, and report accurate records on a daily basis
+ Maintain correct temperature/ventilation settings, and that all associated equipment is in full working order
+ As requested, ensure maintenance of manure scraper chains, feeder lines, feeders, waterers, gates, curtains
+ Any other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisor
**Minimum Education**
+ Minimum of High School diploma
+ Must possess a valid driver's license
+ Ability to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team player
**Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements**
+ Must be able to stand, walk, and work outside up to 10 hours a day.
+ Will be subject to ambient air temperatures throughout the working day and be exposed to sun, rain, wind, mud, snow, etc.
+ Will be exposed to dust, animal dander, odor, and noise.
+ Ability to properly and safely handle breeding stock weighing up to 700 pounds.
+ Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, twisting, and kneeling.
+ Will be around and may be asked to operate four wheelers, skid steers, tractors, or other farm machinery.

Responsibilities

Work Environment

The technician must constantly position themselves to access and inspect eggs and assess their condition from various distances within the incubation area. Regular operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer, is required. The technician must be able to provide and receive information through various technologies, media, sources, and contacts, accurately exchanging information in these situations.
