Position Overview
The Graduate Programs Manager plays a key role in supporting the administration of Charleston Southern University's graduate business programs, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and a high level of service to students, faculty, and stakeholders. Reporting to the leadership of the College of Business, this position is responsible for managing the One-Year MBA program, overseeing student registrations and graduation processes, handling budget and financial transactions, coordinating guest speaker events, and assisting with recruitment and problem resolution for graduate students.
This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can manage multiple responsibilities efficiently, communicate effectively, and contribute to the growth and success of the graduate business programs
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Student Services
•Serve as the primary point of contact for One-Year MBA students, ensuring smooth program operations.
•Coordinate the annual domestic business trip for One-Year MBA students, including travel logistics and budgeting.
•Register One-Year MBA students each semester and assist with course scheduling as needed.
•Process and track graduation applications for One-Year MBA students, ensuring timely submission and approval.
•Manage payment of graduation fees and assist students with administrative graduation-related tasks.
•Plan and facilitate bi-monthly guest speaker events, including room reservations, catering, and speaker arrangements.
•Oversee graduation coordination for the One-Year MBA program, ensuring a seamless experience for graduates.
Budget & Financial Management
•Manage financial transactions for the graduate business programs, including processing invoices and tracking expenses.
•Oversee BUSI 678 (SHRM CP Prep course) budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds.
•Monitor spending for One-Year MBA program meals, travel, and event expenses.
•Assist graduate director in creating and managing the graduate program budget, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Recruitment & Student Support
•Provide general recruitment assistance for graduate programs, helping prospective students understand program requirements and benefits.
•Address student concerns and assist in resolving academic or administrative issues.
Administrative & Process Improvement
•Assist with registration coordination for other graduate programs, including Flex MBA, MAOL, and MS-HRM students.
•Develop and maintain a comprehensive procedure and process document to ensure clarity and efficiency in program administration.
•Additional duties as assigned.

Provide student support services and advising for Master's and Doctoral students to enhance student success and retention. Summary
The Director, Graduate Programs Operations, works collaboratively with the SOC leadership team, faculty, staff, and university leaders to develop and implement high quality graduate programsin person, online and hybridand serves as the Schools administrative lead for this effort. The Director has general oversight of recruitment, admissions, and enrollment functions for the School of Communications graduate and doctoral programs. Applying their knowledge of evolving trends in graduate and higher education, the director makes recommendations to innovate and improve upon programmatic offerings to keep the Schools graduate programs and curriculum up to date and competitive.
The Director collaborates closely with the Director, Communication & Marketing on graduate marketing strategies and updating collaterals. The Director leads graduate retention efforts, ensuring that SOCs graduate academic experience are high quality and student services operations adhere to university policies and effectively support the students progress to degree.
The Director supervises and collaborates with a team to collect, interpret and analyze recruitment, enrollment, admissions and retention data and articulates this data in timely and accurate reports and projections to leadership. They supervise an assistant director, graduate academic advisor, and graduate specialist. The position works with leadership to cultivate and sustain relationships with external partners and consultants. This position serves as the Schools liaison on graduate programs and operations with other university offices, consultants, and external partners.
Essential Functions
- Program Administration and Operations
- Leads day-to-day operations for all SOC graduate programs and coordinate new policies and procedures with relevant AU central offices.
- Oversees graduate academic advising and related student support activities to ensure delivery of a positive experience and to retain students. In collaboration with SOC leadership, researches, evaluates, and establishes best practices to deliver high-quality graduate academic programs.
- Provides guidance to faculty and leadership regarding create and facilitate graduate curriculum review and improvement and course schedules.
- Serves as Schools liaison on graduate academic affairs with other university offices, consultants, and external partners. Represents SOC graduate programs on relevant working groups at the school and university levels and at university and school events. Works with other administrative units to deliver appropriate services to graduate students. Works with international programs personnel to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Graduate Recruitment
- Manages recruitment planning and activities, establishing target data-driven enrollment goals for graduate team.
- Collaborates with Director, Communication & Marketing to help inform the marketing strategy for all graduate programs.
- In consultation with the Associate Director, uses analytic reports to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the recruitment strategy and provide guidance on revisions as necessary.
- This position oversees maintenance of the graduate sections of the SOC Web site. Represents SOC at graduate recruitment and partnership events.
- Graduate Awards and Enrollment
- Works with SOC leadership to develop a financial aid strategy to meet enrollment goals. Responsible for allocation of merit funds to maximize student enrollments. Manages graduate financial aid and award budgets working in collaboration with the Associate Director on timely allocation.
- Working with Division Directors, reviews applications to determine which students qualify for merit awards as well as verifying that they meet the specific criteria for each award. Manages the generation and maintenance of data on merit award recipients for the Office of the Provost and Dean of SOC with the grad team. Tracks offers to ensure timely notification of acceptance/rejection and final distribution of awards. Communicates merit decisions in a timely manner to applicants, track acceptances and rejections, manage application and award process, and track various processes for reports.
- Advises Division Directors about university policies and GFA budget.
- Oversees all aspects of enrollment for SOC graduate programs and develops enrollment forecasts. Collaborates with SOC Leadership Team and University partners to establish graduate enrollment targets.
- Future Graduate and Certificate Programs Launch
- Collaborates with school leadership to develop and implement new programs and partnerships to increase visibility of the school and add additional revenue streams.
- Facilitates development of innovative new graduate degrees and certificates, both online and face to face, within SOC and in collaboration with other units on campus to ensure SOC offers graduate programs that meet current market demands.
- Works directly with the SOC finance team to develop and support a program with projected revenues annually. Stays current on graduate education trends in SOC subject areas and policies related to graduate admissions.
- Provides data-driven feedback to faculty and School leadership on programs that may need to be revised or sunsetted to meet evolving needs in communication and media fields.

Emory University School of Law seeks candidates for a Director of Academic Programs position. This position is the operational lead for our residential and online non-JD graduate programs, including the Master of Legal Studies (MLS), Master of Laws (LLM), Master of Comparative Law (MCL), and Doctor of Judicial Science programs (SJD) though our degrees included are subject to modification. They may also assist in Emory Law's international outreach through the supervision of the Study Abroad Program as well as assisting in forming relationships with other universities. The candidate will work with the faculty director of graduate students as well as any faculty director of each program to determine and operationalize the goals of the programs. In coordination with staff from other departments, such as Admissions, Registrar, Marketing and Communications, and Academic Engagement and Student Support, the position will fully implement the program plans while ensuring compliance with school, university, and accreditation standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Supervise staff for both the online and in-person graduate programs.
+ Collaborate with faculty and staff within the school of law and Emory University on academic programs, student success, and career development.
+ Maintain and revise policies and procedures for each program focused on student recruitment, retention, and completion.
+ Collaborate in the creation of materials for recruitment and promotion of the various graduate programs.
+ Be the point person for graduate student issues and direct them to the appropriate school or university office for assistance.
+ Assist in the onboarding of new faculty members teaching in the graduate program in learning Emory Law programs (e.g. OPUS, Canvas, etc.)
+ Assist the faculty director in the creation of recruitment and marketing planning in coordination with the Office of Admissions.
+ Work with the Office of Admissions in the recruitment and retention of graduate students.
+ Coordinate academic, professionalization, career, and cultural events for graduate students.
+ Assist in school- and university-wide events in which graduate students participate (i.e. orientation, graduation).
+ Consult with businesses and corporations, local and national, to determine and develop interest in certificate programs.
+ Maintain the documentation needed for accreditation; assist in the accreditation of new certificates
+ Monitor and ensure compliance with ABA, SACS, University, federal, and state policies and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and
+ seven years of related experience which includes two years at a management level.
