The Illustrator creates original artwork, visuals, and illustrations that support and enhance a brand’s visual identity and help communicate ideas, messages, or stories. Work is used in print, digital media, packaging, editorial, advertising, or specialized fields (e.g. medical, technical, children’s books). The role involves translating concepts, briefs, or stories into artistic visuals, often collaborating with designers, content creators, marketing teams, or publishers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret briefs from clients, creative leads, or editors to produce illustrations that align with style, tone, and objectives
  • Sketch, concept, and iterate on ideas; provide multiple design/direction options
  • Produce final artwork using the appropriate mediums (digital drawing/painting, vector, traditional)
  • Prepare assets ready for delivery — e.g. high resolution files, scalable vector art, layered files, file format conversions
  • Work on multiple projects in parallel while adhering to deadlines
  • Collaborate with designers, copywriters, art directors or marketing teams to ensure visual coherence and message alignment
  • Revise and refine illustrations based on feedback
  • Maintain consistency across illustration work (style, color, line quality) especially when creating a series or working within brand guidelines

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong drawing and visual storytelling ability
  • Proficiency with illustration tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, or other digital art tools)
  • Understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, anatomy (as relevant), perspective
  • Ability to work in different styles (realistic, stylized, vector, hand-drawn, etc.) depending on project needs
  • Time management and organizational skills, ability to meet revisions and deadlines
  • Good communication skills; ability to receive feedback and revise work accordingly
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a range of illustration work, showing concept to final product
Nice to Have
  • Experience with print production / preparing art for print (CMYK, bleed, etc.)
  • Animation or motion graphics skills, even basic (e.g. animating illustration elements)

  • Optimize artwork for various digital platforms and screen resolutions.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in digital illustration and graphic design.
  • Provide constructive feedback to junior illustrators and contribute to the overall artistic development of the team.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Digital Illustrator or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic skill and creativity.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, and Corel Painter.
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, composition, anatomy, and perspective.
  • Experience with animation principles and software is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate artistic vision clearly in a remote setting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
