Summary: Materials handler is to process material accurately through the warehouse. Workers in this area handle a variety of materials and products. Parts and materials may be expensive or hazardous in some cases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Materials handlers load and unload materials in warehouses and storage facilities. Materials may be moved from trucks, trains and other transport equipment.
- They also receive materials into an organization and verify materials against invoices to ensure the accuracy of the delivery. Materials handlers count or weigh parts to check quantity accuracy.
- Handlers pick parts/materials for shipment and package according to shipping procedures. They fill out the appropriate paperwork to ship the product.
- Materials handlers perform transactions in the inventory system to enter new quantities and, during shipping transactions, to remove inventory from stock.
- Workers may use material moving equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and dollies to bring products and materials to an appropriate location.
- Stockroom workers issue materials to departments in the organization upon request. This involves transacting inventory quantities to the department and delivering the parts to the work area. The worker monitors the stockroom inventory and reports discrepancies in quantities to supervisors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Materials handlers must be able to work in a physically demanding role. The work involves long hours standing and bending. Heavy lifting is also required.
- Basic math and computer skills are necessary for the position of materials handlers.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklift safely.
- Demonstrate ability to follow instructions.
- Demonstrate good attendance and punctuality.
- Minimum educational qualification - High School Diploma or GED equivalent

1) You will routinely ensure that materials from receiving Inspection is correctly identified and put away into appropriate stockroom locations and transaction completed.
2) You will be responsible for performing shortage fill to work orders during put away procedure.
3) You ensure that all FIFO procedures are complied with when materials are received into the stockroom.
4) You will pull parts from stock to work order on a daily basis at direction of the kit-pull coordinator.
5) You will perform daily cycle count tasks at the direction of the inventory coordinator (goal 100%).
6) You will provide stockroom window service as well as cage or tape & reel issue at the direction of the stockroom Leader or supervisor.
7) You will conduct the above assigned responsibilities in such a manner as to insure that the stockroom is maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
8) You are to be trained initially in the use of Oracle data entry system for processing simple transaction and researching problem that you encounter during put away and pull kits
Education and Experience:
-A minimum of 1 year stockroom or related experience.
Must have strong Math skill, an ability to identify various electronic components, working knowledge of electronic components SMT, and team player, punctual goodattendance, flexible work hours also required.
