The MRI team is composed of technical and medical professionals who ensure that this powerful diagnostic tool and state-of-the-art machinery is employed in a way that helps patients feel relaxed and cared for.
As the MRI Technologist, your skill and careful attention will help to ensure that the Imaging Services at Kapi'olani provide quality diagnostic services and care for our patients and their families. In this role, you will be performing diagnostic radiographic angiography procedures on patients. We are looking for someone with sensitive patient care skills, an appreciation for technical procedure and protocol and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R) required within 6 months of employment.
• NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. If hired on or before September 13, 2021, a NYS Injection Certification is required by September 1, 2022.

• Performs a variety of routine and advanced MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) procedures in the presence of a strong magnetic field while monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.
• Educates patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the exam.
• Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts.
• Provides on-call coverage for MRI Section of Radiology.
• Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the Radiant Care Connect EMR.
• Cleans restocks and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
• Provides excellent customer service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology or completion of a Radiologic Technology hospital certificate program.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R) required within 6 months of employment.
• NYS Injection Certification within 6 months of employment. If hired on or before September 13, 2021, a NYS Injection Certification is required by September 1, 2022.
• BLS Certification within 6 months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging experience.
• ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work various software applications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The MRI Technologist operates the Magnetic Resonance operations at SimonMed Imaging centers.
- Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology
- Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies
- Selects appropriate imaging techniques, and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in automatic processor
- Obtains images, produces film records and backups from disk to storage media, and transfers from desk to PACS stations
- Maintains accurate study documentation
- Performs a variety of tasks
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services while providing excellent customer service.
- Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.

Experience:
- 1 year in fast paced MRI environment preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking.
