**Your New Role.**
CNN is seeking a news desk reporter/writer to join the nerve center of the Washington newsroom. The ideal candidate is someone who embraces the challenge of multi-tasking in a fast-paced news environment.
**Your Role Accountabilities.**
+ Reports, researches, writes and owns all stages of assigned stories from brief initial network alerts to fully formed published stories and everything in between across all platforms.
+ Capable of reporting and write assigned stories, with urgency and accuracy, often under tight deadlines
+ Utilize strong editorial judgment to quickly and effectively frame and headline news items for maximum impact, as well as provide key context
+ Maintain contacts and monitor competitive landscape and variety of news products for developments beyond initial reporting

+ Writes accurate and concise minutes of proceedings by analyzing and summarizing complex discussions and presentations for each meeting and documenting board actions;
+ Verifies facts and correct verbiage through research as needed;
+ Prepares follow-up agenda following meetings, summarizing final determinations;
+ Ensures that pertinent data is included in minutes and that information is accurately reflected as a matter of public record;
+ Submits minutes to supervisor for final review and edits and ensures all backup material has been stored appropriately;
+ May testify in court, verify the accuracy of minutes, and assist in providing on-the-job training to new employees;
+ Performs other related job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Four (4) years of secretarial or advanced clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
