**_What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health_**
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.
**_Job Summary_**
The primary purpose of the Tech II, Nuclear Pharmacy is to assist the pharmacist in pharmacy operations and customer interactions, including answering questions and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists. The Tech II, Nuclear Pharmacy participates in all aspects of facility and equipment preparation, including inventory management and performing and recording all tasks as mandated by law. As part of operating in a nuclear pharmacy, this job assists in compounding of drugs in line with manufacturer specifications, performing quality checks, and participating in the dispensing process. In addition, this job assists in order preparation, entry and fulfillment as well as completing ad hoc tasks, as required.

+ Follows standard operating procedures to organize, prepare and dispense radioactive medications, as specified by manufacturers and in line with customer needs.

+ Performs administrative pharmacy tasks, such as billing, answering questions and assisting customers to facilitate pharmacy operations and customer satisfaction.
+ Maintains pharmacy safety through following and recording completion of daily infection control procedures.
+ Assists in training and development of staff through mentorship of pharmacy tech trainees.

**_Qualifications_**
+ High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
+ 1-2 years of experience, preferred
+ Must be a Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II or be a PTCB nationally certified Pharmacy Technician
+ Past IV or nuclear pharmacy experience preferred
+ Valid driver's license and good driving record required
+ Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle required
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong customer service skills
+ Manual dexterity required for occasional reach, lifting and holding of small objects
+ Demonstrated manual dexterity to dispense doses
+ Ability to manage up to 75 pounds

Summary:
Purpose: The Registered Nurse (STA) at Nuvance Health adheres to nursing standards of practice to include assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation based on the plan of care that is guided by the ANA Nursing Scope of Practice. The Registered Nurse performs according to the state guidelines, unit-based scope of service, and institutional practice policies.
Responsibilities:
Completes patient assessment and reassessment as clinically indicated.
* Documents detailed information incorporating the plan of care, interventions and outcomes reflecting the patient�s physical, mental, and emotional status.
* Ensures appropriate documentation based on the level of care the patient is receiving to include transfer/discharge documentation as indicated. *
Follows the five Rights of Medication Administration, verbalizing to patients/family/significant other the medication they are receiving. Assesses the patient prior to administering medications noting allergies, parameters, potential side effects, and effectiveness, and intervening as needed. Reassess and document response according to hospital policy.
Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care, including the delegation of tasks.
Maintains accountability for care delegated.
Actively works to promote a culture of safety.
* Assesses patients for potential safety risks.
* Adheres to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety. Initiate interventions related to the risk factors identified.
* Conducts bedside shift report and bedside rounds with peer on assigned patients at change of shift.
* Show quality by documenting the nursing process's application in a responsible, accountable, and ethical manner
Assesses learning needs of patient/family/significant other. Plans and provides appropriate instruction using applicable teaching methods. Assesses and documents patient/family/significant other response to teaching.
Cares for specific patient populations, despite location, as necessary
