University Mechanical and Engineering Contractors, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator for our Southern California offices. Plumbing estimator is responsible for all phases of the estimating and bidding process including preconstruction services and performing estimate takeoffs. Thorough knowledge of the mechanical construction bidding processes is required. Specific expertise with Plumbing systems serving healthcare (HCAI), hotels, student housing, laboratories, power plants, Cogeneration facilities, manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, cGMP facilities and process systems for Pharmaceutical and microelectronics facilities is desired. Ability to produce a complete detailed estimate from incomplete design documents is preferred.
Compensation Range: $86,000 to $115,000.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Bid document review, pre-bid meetings, client interface, plumbing system sizing and layout from incomplete bid documents, quantity takeoff, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing, spreadsheet input and proposal preparation. Estimates will be prepared using Autobid estimating software. Experience Autobid or other on-screen estimating software is desired. Duties also include on site and/or In-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget. Estimator will also interface with UMEC's construction project teams and CAD detailing staff. Must have knowledge regarding safety, worker's compensation, insurance and bonding, materials as it pertains to bidding requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

We are looking for a Plumbing Superintendent to join our team.
Plumbing Superintendents are hands-on managers who is comfortable directing and evaluating on-site personnel by staying engaged in all aspects of the project. They must maintain an open, positive, and professional line of communication with the company's customers, i.e., builders, vendors, homeowners, internal customers, and trade partners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems
- Skilled in relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures installation and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of Plumbing materials, equipment, and appropriately matched systems.
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
- Familiarity with Project Management skills, including scope, time, and budget management.

drawings for on-site team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple foreman and installers in multiple areas in installation of plumbing systems,
including timecard review, updates, submission, and delivery of paychecks.
- When necessary; assist and train field team as needed
- Lead team to meet deadlines; ensure on-time and accurate completion in accordance with project plans.
- Plan and coordinate crews with tasks to be performed, monitor performance.
- Coordinate with builder, project manager, and project engineer to ensure job metrics are met
- Manage system start-ups and testing
- Read and comprehend blueprints; troubleshoot any issues and coordinate with General Manager and Field
Team
- Maintain consistent contact with builder to be aware at all times of expected installation dates.
Position RequirementsExperience:
- 5+ years' experience as a Plumbing- Superintendent and/or Foreman
- OSHA Site Safety Experience
- Multi-lingual with fluency in English and Spanish a plus
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands regularly to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and equipment. The employee is required to both see and hear. The employee must be able to walk, sit and stand. The employee occasionally lifts to 70 lbs., and occasionally kneels and bends.
Work Environment:
The environment is both office and construction sites. The Superintendent is often required to visit builder offices and job sites as well as meetings with other subcontractors and vendors.
The construction environment is subject to changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Plumbing estimator is responsible for all phases of the estimating and bidding process including preconstruction services and performing estimate takeoffs. Thorough knowledge of the mechanical construction bidding processes is required. Specific expertise with Plumbing systems serving hotels, student housing, laboratories, power plants, Cogeneration facilities, manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, cGMP facilities and process systems for Pharmaceutical and microelectronics facilities is desired. Ability to produce a complete detailed estimate from incomplete design documents is .Duties And Responsibilities
Bid document review, pre-bid meetings, client interface, quantity takeoff, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing, spreadsheet input and proposal preparation. Estimates will be prepared using Quote Express estimating software. Experience with Quote Express or other on-screen estimating software is desired. Duties also include on site and/or In-house estimating where candidate will work with professionals in design firms on design-assist and design-build projects to direct the design to meet the budget.
