Employees in positions allocated to this level of the series work under administrative direction and in support of a major academic or administrative unit. They are responsible for initiating and coordinating the office support functions required for the effective implementation of administrative policies of the unit. Duties required extensive knowledge of the organization, programs, policies, and procedures of the unit and the institution and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database, and software packages.

receives incoming mail and responds to items as appropriate; this may require interpretation, explanation, or defense of unit policies, guidelines, or functions;

maintains an overall awareness of organizational activities of import or impact to the designated member(s) of the unit staff and the unit;

participates in the analysis, design, and implementation of office information systems; develops and implements procedures and recordkeeping systems to support the administrative functions performed by the unit;
conducts extensive research assignments involving the evaluation, selection and compilation of information from a wide variety of sources; prepares reports which require the synthesis or integration of a variety of subject areas or the summation of the individual contributions of staff members or sub-units; assists investigators with proposal preparation;
authorizes fiscal transactions and keeps management informed of overall financial position: reviews and monitors fiscal transactions and accounts of a major unit with responsibility for overall control.

This is a contingent position based upon contract award
KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Mail Clerk to join our team supporting a government client with locations in Washington Metropolitan Area.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Sort and distribute incoming mail.
+ Prepare outgoing mail (enveloping, stamping, sorting).
+ Manage postal requirements and ensure postage is up to date.
+ Maintain records and logs of mail.
+ Maintain Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all installations and repairs meet or exceed the set standards.
+ Facilitate Team Communication: Ensure clear and consistent communication within the team and with other project stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project goals and updates.
+ Other duties as required
Qualifications
Required:
+ Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI
+ 3+ years of proven experience as a mail clerk or similar role. of experience
+ Must be a US Citizen
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Good organizational and time management skills.
+ Working knowledge of mail processes and postal regulations.
+ Attention to Detail: Precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.
+ Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.
+ Decision-Making Ability: Strong decision-making skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
Basic Compensation:
$33,400 - $50,100
This range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
