The Professional Development Coordinator is a key member of the PD team. The position supports Milbank's associate development initiatives, notably and , and other learning opportunities for lawyers. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to and working closely with the Manager of Professional Development, the primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting all aspects of the planning and execution of the firm's Litigation and Financial Restructuring curricula, and (associate training), new associate orientation programming, and external professional skills coaching opportunities.
- In collaboration with the Manager of Professional Development, working directly with external consultants to schedule training workshops and coaching opportunities.
- Accrediting NY and CA CLE courses, maintaining CLE course files, and processing CLE certificates for and training programs via the firm's MCLE tracking system, Aderant LMS.
- Coordinating all aspects of and training programs, including drafting invitations, attendance tracking, CLE accreditation, distributing materials, booking conference rooms, and arranging technical needs and catering.
- Drafting and distributing Professional Development Monthly Update (department newsletter).
- Providing administrative support for all aspects of annual global new associate orientation programming and events.
- Planning logistics of training workshops, including hotel accommodation and social events, which involves liaising with internal departments and outside vendors.
- Attending meetings such as associate focus groups, compiling and analyzing feedback, and recommending improvements as needed.
- Maintaining accuracy and organization of online program files.
- Other responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time.
The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $60,000 to $80,000 and represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation range. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, as well as the needs of the firm.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience with continuing professional education in a professional services context.
- Strongly preferred: 1-3 years' experience working in a professional services environment.
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Knowledge of Aderant LMS and viDesktop systems a major plus.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with attorneys and vendors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- NY and CA CLE experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
