**Job Description:**
The Sr. Engineer will join the Facility Group to manage, plan, direct, and coordinate facility project activities to ensure projects are accomplished within the approved scope, budget, and schedule. The Sr. Engineer will oversee facility projects of varying sizes and complexity, ranging from greenfield/new construction to major renovations and minor upgrades of existing facilities. This position requires the ability to manage projects from the conceptual engineering phase through construction completion. Interaction with all Grifols' Departments, Vendors, and Contractors is critical for project success. The Sr. Engineer independently performs most assignments and provides direction for the project team to achieve facility project objectives and ensure resources are utilized efficiently. The position requires an understanding of project requirements to ensure projects are in compliance with cGMP design, applicable codes, and environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Manage facility project design and construction by coordinating, reviewing, and administering the work of Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors.
+ Create cost management solutions for facility projects. Manage vendors, engineers, and consultants to ensure facility projects are completed on budget and per schedules.
+ Responsible for project management, project planning, budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and project cost analyses.
+ Review and evaluate bid proposals/estimates with procurement.
+ Manage facility projects and project planning efforts, including both new installations and upgrades to existing facilities.
+ Ensure projects are in compliance with local/state/federal codes and regulations, including OSHA, FDA, Fire, Building/Safety, etc.
+ Track and evaluate critical data to recommend continuous process improvement.
+ Maintain communication between department management and all cross-functional teams.
+ Manage multiple local contractors to complete work in donor centers across the company.
+ Authorize and negotiate work proposals/estimates with local contractors.
+ Flexible travel with a potential of up to 25% travel required.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating construction projects from the sale through completion, ensuring delivery within the established schedule and budget. The role involves close collaboration with owners, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Success in this position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive progress, control costs, maintain timelines, and uphold quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Functions- Lead, organize, and manage all project management activities across assigned projects
- Collaborate with the estimating team during the bidding phase when requested
- Oversee the buyout process, including thorough scope reviews and fair, transparent negotiations with subcontractors and vendors
- Coordinate and drive the preconstruction process to ensure a strong project start
- Create and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project, updating them regularly throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and approve the three-week look-ahead schedules developed by the Project Superintendent
- Ensure that all required permits and licenses are obtained for each project
- Provide direct oversight to Project Engineers (PEs) and Project Coordinators (PCs) in managing contracts, purchase orders, submittals, RFIs, warranties, and related documentation
- Draft well-documented and detailed Change Order Requests for review and approval by appropriate stakeholders
- Monitor project costs and actively identify opportunities to reduce expenseswithout compromising safety or qualityto support profit targets
- Oversee timely and accurate project billing and documentation
- Manage multiple client relationships and commercial construction projects simultaneously
- Conduct regular site meetings with architects, owners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, based on project needs
- Provide leadership and support to the project superintendent throughout each project
- Partner with the superintendent to implement and enforce Speedwell's Safety Program across all job sites
- Participate in key project milestone meetings, including Hand-off, Start-up, and Close-out/Wrap-up meetings

Work EnvironmentThe project manager will divide their time between a professional office setting, active construction sites, and various meetings. When on site, appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear must be worn as required.
Physical DemandsSite visits may require climbing ladders, walking across uneven terrain, and driving between project locations. Time spent in the office may involve extended periods at a computer or using standard office equipment, which could lead to eye or muscle strain. Occasional lifting of office supplies or materials (up to 15 pounds) may be necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, exempt position. A standard work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday; however, evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs or deadlines.
TravelThis role may involve managing "travel projects" that require regular overnight job-site visits, typically up to twice per month for the duration of the project. Occasional travel for professional development, training, or company events is also expected.
Education and ExperienceRequired:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 10-hour certification
- Solid understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations
- Basic proficiency with information technology and construction-related software
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or a closely related field
- Ability to read, write, and interpret contract documents, including drawings and specifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in construction project management
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Proficiency in project scheduling using Microsoft Project
- Experience with construction software such as Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Revit, or Microsoft Project
