Job Summary
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer III with a strong background in AI and machine learning to join our growing AI engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of intelligent systems and AI-powered products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, ML engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to bring cutting-edge innovations to production at scale.
You'll play a key role in technical decision-making, architecture, and mentoring junior/mid-level engineers while pushing the boundaries of what AI can do across our platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of AI-driven systems and services
- Collaborate with research and product teams to translate ML models into scalable production applications
- Architect robust, scalable, and low-latency backend systems and AI pipelines
- Guide the design and implementation of APIs, microservices, and data pipelines supporting AI workloads
- Drive adoption of AI best practices to ethical AI and model interpretability
- Optimize machine learning models for performance, cost, and accuracy in production environments
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural guidance
- Own software reliability, testing, and observability of AI components
- Stay updated with advancements in AI/ML and drive continuous improvement of the tech stack
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of software development experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives across teams
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, GIT, NodeJS, and Code Blocks
- Experience optimizing AI systems for performance, reliability, and scale
- Experience with Google CES, along with prompt engineering, is an added advantage
- Experience with Google Cloud capabilities

Job Summary
As a Software Development Engineer II - Video Backend Services , you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of backend services that facilitate the delivery of Video service and metadata to various clients. Building on your foundational experience, you will take on more complex and challenging tasks, including the integration of backend services with external systems, performance optimization, and troubleshooting advanced technical issues. You will be responsible for leading the development of key features, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring that the services you develop are scalable, reliable, and efficient. This role requires a solid understanding of backend programming, network protocols, and database management, as well as the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You will also mentor junior developers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles.
As a Level II Software Development Engineer, you are expected to have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality code that meets the needs of the business and its customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, coding, testing, and deployment of backend services and features that provide Video services
- Work on integrating various backend services with external systems, ensuring seamless communication and data flow
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize the performance of backend services, focusing on improving scalability and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve more complex issues, including those related to network protocols, database performance, and service orchestration
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Level I Software Developers, helping them navigate technical challenges and grow their skills
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including CPE developers, Mobile developers, Web developers, network engineers, and product managers, to align project goals and technical requirements

Qualifications

- Google Cloud Certified Developer or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) a plus

- Understanding and application of design patterns such as Singleton, Factory, Observer, and MVC (Model-View-Controller) in software design.

- Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, including automated testing and deployment
- Proficient in writing automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests), using testing frameworks and tools (e.g., JUnit, Selenium)
- Strong debugging skills, including the use of advanced tools like debuggers, profilers, and log analyzers to diagnose and fix complex issues
- Experience with Eclipse and Spring Tools for Eclipse IDE's
- Experience with virtual machines (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox) or cloud environments (e.g., GCP) for development and testing
- Familiarity with containers, including creating and managing containers for development and testing environments
- Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automating complex tasks, including deployment and configuration management
- Basic understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation
