Job Description

Responsible for the day-to-day activities of specific shift operation including employee group, maintenance and accuracy of timekeeping, effectively managing the work load, properly utilizing company and client vehicles and equipment, and reporting all discrepancies to the Account Manager and or General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Some supervisory/management in shift work environment experience necessary.

3. Verbal and written communications skills

4. Must be 18 years of age or older.

5. Must have a reliable telephone and transportation.

B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Treat all information as confidential.

2. Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.

3. Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift.

4. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

5. Must complete a criminal background check.

6. Must be able to read, understand, direct and carry out instructions in English.

7. Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.

8. Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).

9. Be able to resolve problem situations with employees and passengers when necessary.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Must be able to perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary.

2. Must be familiar with all pertinent regulations. (Company/Client/Government Agencies)

3. Schedule personnel daily and furnish copy to Account Manager. Obtain written approval form necessary use of overtime in advance.

4. Monitor employee activity and makes adjustments as needed.

5. Make sure employees follow all regulations/procedures.

6. Check In/Out sheets to insure all employees have logged in times correctly

7. Deals fairly, courteously and tactfully with fellow employees while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

8. Communicate effectively with fellow employees and client representatives.

9. Make recommendations to Account Manager regarding personnel performance.

10. Act on and communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to Account Manager or General Manager.

11. Report inquiries and all other incidents to Account Managers. Emergency situations are to be reported immediately to Account Manager and/or General Manager.

12. Respond to inquiries from your leads, employees, client, and passengers in a timely, courteous and professional manner.

13. Keep leads informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.

14. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.

15. Give clear concise direction to leads, coordinators, warehouse, and crews while providing both positive and corrective feedback.

16. Attend meetings and in-services as required.

17. Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, training files, reports and files as required.

18. Utilize company provided training materials and resources to develop a safe well trained staff while creating and maintaining a safe working environment.

19. Must be in proper business attire as directed by company officials. Identification badges must always be visible.

20. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.

21. Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.

22. Perform quality assurance service audits as directed to conform to client's specifications and/or procedures.

23. Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS)

24. Implement safety plan for station

25. Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary

26. Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors are responsible for opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a friendly, easy to shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times. Area Supervisors are also responsible for executing and supervising Company operational processes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:

* Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
* Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone. Immediately corrects or reports any unsafe conditions or practices to Store Leadership.
* Responsible for security of building including entrance/exit control (Associate entry/egress, receiving door, daily trash removal, etc.), Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) devices daily function check, Cash Office security, armored carrier pick-ups and register area.
* Removes clutter and ensures safe, clear egress to emergency exits.
* Responsible for Customer safety including accident prevention, accident reporting and emergency procedures.
* Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled. Responds to after-hours alarms when requested.

Customer Service:

* Treats all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect.
* Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times. Recognizes Associates using Company recognition programs.

Personal and Store Brand

* Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.

* As a representative of Ross Leadership, demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with Associates and Customers. Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information and merchandise.
* Ensures Public View Monitor (PVM) system is maintained properly.
* Conducts "Code 50" package inspections.
* Executes all Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and touches while working.

Front End Supervision and Operations:

* Executes all Company Best Practices and maximizes productivity by minimizing steps and extra touches when working. Ensures Associates are executing to Company standards at the Front End.
* Maintains pace, energy and "presence" at the Front End, managing the line to expedite Customers wait time
* Trains and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies and other Front End procedures. To meet friendly and productivity standards.
* Controls Retail Associates' break schedule for backups, lunches and breaks.
* Ensures all equipment is working properly.
* Maintains proper supplies and recovery for the Front End area.
* Ensures go backs are expedited, properly scanned, security tagged and ticketed.
* Teaches all Associates the "Scan and Bag" best practice.
* Ensures salability of merchandise on the Front End, aisle tables, Men's/Women's 4-way features, and specialty racks.

Fitting Rooms:

* Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the Fitting Rooms.
* Ensures all Fitting Room garment tags are audited and accounted for to Company policy.
* Ensures go-back compliance throughout the day. All merchandise returned to the sales floor must be ticketed, scanned, nubbed and security tagged as needed.

Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager:

* Ensures Cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to Company policy.
* Responsible for Front End control when needed. Understands and adheres to the policies and procedures that refer to refund approval, Associate purchase approval, securing tills and cash in safe, register Paid Outs/Ins, void approval, register media and break schedules.
* Responsible for payroll administration including daily punch edits, Associate scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission and Payroll reporting as needed.
* Other duties as assigned by Store Manager.

Job Summary

The Coding Supervisor oversees one or more service lines of Health Information Management (HIM) coding. The Supervisor has in-depth knowledge and can interpret health record documentation to identify procedures and services for accurate code assignment. The Coding Supervisor uses the International Classification of Disease (ICD-10CM, ICD-10-PCS), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), including Physicians Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding systems, and other coding references to ensure accurate coding.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Plans, organizes, develops and manages a staff of coders.
  • Ensures accuracy and consistency of coded data for various records. These may include professional fee surgical procedures, day surgery, emergency department, outpatient visits, observation, or inpatient records. Reviews records to validate diagnoses, procedures, modifiers, APC assignment, and/or DRG. Identifies high-risk areas in coding and documentation practices.
  • May conduct focused quality reviews on HIM coding staff. This is apart from those by the BSWH HIM Audit team. All coding must use official guidelines from AHA Coding Clinic, AMA CPT Assistant, AHA Coding Clinic for HCPCS, and CMS publications.
  • Provides training to coding staff, and cross-trains staff as needed.
  • Ensures all staff record productivity daily as assigned. Monitors staff member quality and production scores, managing or coaching them for improvement. Takes performance improvement steps per policy when needed.
  • Monitors daily unbilled reports and work queues for outstanding accounts. Adjusts staff assignments as needed. Manages workload to meet daily un-coded accounts receivable.
  • Is a resource for resolving billing edits using the National Correct Coding Initiative and Local and National Coverage Determinations. Facilitates billing issues with Physician Fee Schedules (PFS) and informs PFS when charges need to be moved on patient accounts.
  • Attends coding and reimbursement trainings and ensures staff attend when assigned as well.
  • Maintains knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines affecting coding. Stays updated on new technology in coding and abstracting. Stays informed about transaction code sets, HIPAA requirements, and future issues impacting coding and abstracting.
  • Serves as a resource to coding staff and other departments to answer coding and documentation related questions.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with physicians, nurses, clinic managers, and other contacts. This ensures productive work encounters and resolves issues.

SUMMARY:

Manages, coordinates, and supervises the pathology department. Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the performance of the technical and support section staff in the assigned unit. Ensure patient samples are appropriately prepared for review and diagnostic evaluation by the Pathologists. Ensures that the Section runs smoothly, that turnaround time meets or exceeds established guidelines, and that all quality and safety requirements are consistently met.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Medical Technology or Health Science in a healthcare-related field with a master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant required

  • Minimum of six (6) years in a clinical laboratory and pathology in a hospital setting, at least 2 years in supervisory experience required

  • Membership in the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants, required.

  • Must have experience in human relations, communications, and management skills required.

  • Some Histology, Cytology & and Pathology Assistant experience preferred.

  • Experience with a laboratory computer system with anatomic pathology and/or histology/cytology modules preferred.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric as applicable).

  • Ensures that department or shift personnel provide accurate and timely testing results following laboratory standards.

  • Hires, trains, orients, and promotes teamwork and mentors department staff.

  • Ensure that QC testing and proficiency testing are performed, recorded, and evaluated according to established guidelines and that out-of-control results are resolved in a timely manner. Develops and/or maintains a quality assurance program that meets all the requirements of applicable accrediting agencies.

  • General understanding of the process of shipping samples to reference laboratories, filling out requisitions, packaging samples to meet IATA and DOT guidelines.

  • Using Epic program to gather necessary information on individual patients for pathologists to present at tumor boards for treatment purposes.

  • Help with creating policies, procedures, or workflow processes.

  • Preparing Pap specimens for our cytology team to process.

  • Preparing surgical and cytology specimens for pathology assistants and cytotechnologists to gross.

  • Registration of mail in lab/non-patient drop-off requisitions/samples.

  • Help with Cytology/Histology/Admin staff/Pathologist with items as things arise.

  • Checking the basement for supplies, able to lift 20 lbs. Assist with ordering and stocking supplies as needed.

  • Maintenance on Thin Prep and TomCat processors.

  • Filling out maintenance logs, handling of waste from stainer fluids, body fluids, etc.

  • Assists with special projects and interdepartmental needs when appropriate.
