  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in architectural design and project management, with a strong portfolio of completed commercial or institutional projects.
  • Proven experience in a project lead or project manager role, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
  • Expert proficiency in architectural software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).

Position Responsibilities
Lead Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for financial reporting, including proper phasing of costs, monitoring productivity, projecting job costs, managing subcontractor contracts, and change order management.
Lead PE is also responsible for managing Field PE(s) and ensuring their responsibilities are correctly executed, including project engineering, documentation management, accounts payable, and material tracking.

The Lead PE's responsibilities will vary slightly based on project schedule and scope, but will typically involve aiding the management of:
  • Subcontractor set up and coordination
  • Equipment and manpower tracking and projection
  • Onsite financial reporting
  • Accounts receivable
  • Invoice approval
  • Other cost control processes
  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing the Field PE's successful execution of the project engineering, documentation management, accounts payable, and material and quantity tracking processes.
  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing the Administrative Assistant's successful management of the onsite payroll process.
  • Monitor phasing of job costs, ensuring all costs are tracked in the correct phases.
  • Monitor productivity, material tracking, subcontractor contract value, staffing, and equipment usage weekly and notify the Project Manager of variances from budget.
  • Maintain staffing and equipment matrices weekly, which records all anticipated site staff and equipment, including start and end dates, weekly burn rates, and anticipated total job costs.
  • Support Project Manager in the change order process by initiating client change orders, providing and storing backup in the online document control platform, entering change order breakdowns per phase in the project management software, maintaining the change order log, and following up with the client on open change order requests.
  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring pay applications are developed and submitted per the contract.
  • Record the cost of all work that has been completed but not yet invoiced (accruals) monthly.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining a risk and opportunity register, including identifying risk and opportunity events, event likelihoods, and potential financial and schedule impacts.
  • Develop the Monthly Performance and Progress Report (MPPR), which includes estimating the final job costs per phase and updating and maintaining the change order log, pay applications log, risk matrix, staffing matrix, and equipment matrix.
  • Maintain the equipment and staffing matrix with dates matching the current schedule and review with Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Superintendents to ensure accuracy with current construction plan.
  • Submit requisitions to the corporate Procurement team to initiate vendor subcontracts and/or purchase orders.
  • Manage vendors and subcontracts, including working through vendor noncompliance to ensure timely payments, receiving partial and final lien waivers, ensuring quantities received match invoicing, reviewing invoices and approving or rejecting as applicable, and executing change orders to cover our of scope work.
  • Collect progress schedules from subcontractors as applicable and distribute detailed, summary path, and 3 week look ahead schedules to the project team.
  • Execute duties as required to support the financial reporting process and Field PE responsibilities.

The Design Verification Lead (DVL) will serve in the following capacity:

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead in the identification of the applicable Engineering Design Standards, Engineering Functional Standards, Engineering Specifications and Regulatory requirements and guidance (both internal and external).
    • Be responsible for the overall design delivery for capital project(s).
    • Coordinate all design for the Project Manager during all design phases of the project and be responsible in delivering the conceptual design review and basic design review.
    • Direct the development of the design requirements.
    • Assist in development and maintenance of the design schedule to meet the project needs.
    • Participate in the selection of the A/E firms.
    • Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems to measure progress by discipline (monitor work versus invoice amounts).
    • Expedite design decisions and coordinate information flow between the design team and system owners.
    • Be responsible for ensuring the design meets approved intent through interactions between the design firm, design specialists, engineering tech center disciplines, and end user/customer.
    • Be responsible for design activities and governance, resolving design-related problems.
    • Examine areas of inefficiency and develop strategies for improvement to direct the design team to meet or improve on the design hours plan.
    • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, project delivery work instructions, and/or best practices related to design/verification and ensure they remain current with industry best practices.
    • Review and approve along with the respective Project Manager the key design project personnel (both internal and external resources).
    • Work with Engineering Tech Center resources and other key project team technical/constructability resources to address and resolve design issues.
    • Ensure replication is achieved during design when applicable.
    • Support the Project Manager for value engineering exercises efforts to maximize project opportunities.
    • Review design-related invoices prior to approval and participate in KPI reviews/assessments.
    • Participate in the selection of the verification professional services.
    • Accountable for the development of the Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix, and risk assessments (not necessary lead the execution).
    • Coordinate verification for the Project Manager during the verification phase of the project.
    • Accountable for the discrepancy tracking and management in the Verification phase.
    Basic Requirements:
    • BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
    • Minimum of 5-years manufacturing and/or engineering experience in support of pharmaceutical or API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) networks

    $64,500 - $167,200

    SUMMARY:
    Responsible for supporting the project management team by providing training on process and technology, being the subject matter expert (SME) and change agent, or supporting a team within a product line. Manages assigned client revenue load up to $2.0M.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Mentors team members to foster a high-performance work environment.

    • Addresses client concerns and resolves issues promptly, coordinates with the lab functions/departments to ensure timely completion of client work or resolution of problem. Provides ongoing education and training to clients to help them maximize product usage.
    • Monitors client's health and proactively addresses potential churn risks, develops and executes strategies for client retention and contract renewals in partnership with sales and operations. Identifies upsell and cross-sell opportunities and communicates to sales and operations.
    • Provides project planning/timing with lab, sales and the client and ensures the project is set up correctly in LIMS, pricing is accurate, and details are communicated to the respective parties.
    • Identifies and resolves project issues promptly.
    • Reviews project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and client requirements; manages client feedback and ensures continuous improvement.
    • Maintains clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams; prepares and delivers project status reports on progress, risks and issues.
    • Conducts project closure to ensure final deliverables and client satisfaction are confirmed, client is invoiced, evaluates project success, and support accounting needs regarding invoicing/payment.
    • Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project outcomes align with client objectives.
    • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

    Position Summary

    This position will be responsible for project development and growth of Duke Energy's Federal Project Development group, which focuses on utility energy services contracts (UESCs). The person filling this position should have extensive experience developing federal UESCs and/or federal energy savings performance contracts, along with extensive knowledge of federal contracting procedures and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This position will report to the Director, Federal Project Development & Execution.

    This position provides leadership and direction for project and business development and overall customer engagement associated with the development of energy and water conservation measures (ECMs) and the required energy cost savings associated with federal performance contracting requirements. The person filling this position must have extensive experience with evaluating facility support systems to identify problems and opportunities for improvement as well as solution identification, including financial paybacks, schedule development (in MS Project), resource planning, budgeting, process management, quality control, risk management, and basic financial modeling.

    This position will execute on and help expand Duke Energy's current UESC offerings within its regulated footprint. This position will lead project and business development efforts to enhance and develop relationships and opportunities with multiple federal customers. This position will be responsible for leading the technical development of federal UESCs and working closely with our energy team to negotiate and execute successful UESCs. The position will also be expected to perform in a project or business developer role on specific projects, as needed, in order to further support the project development team. This role will engage in a portfolio of projects in excess of $200 million annually, associated with individual projects ranging in size from $M to multi-millions.

    This position will manage working with a team of individuals to enhance Duke Energy's project and business development efforts. This role will also require working with multiple internal Duke Energy teams to effectively scope and execute project implementation to ensure successful delivery of UESCs.

    Additionally, the position will be responsible for developing and maintaining multi-disciplinary relationships with external parties (e.g., federal customers, subcontractors), as well as relationships with regulated utility distribution and transmission departments to ensure solutions integrate with the utility delivery system. The position will also be expected to perform in a lead project developer role on specific projects, as needed, in order to further support the project development team.

    This role is customer facing and is responsible for operating under multiple regulatory and non-regulated business models across the Duke Energy territories.

    Responsibilities

    Lead Duke Energy's UESC project and business development, identifying and defining new project opportunities that result in executed UESC task order awards and modifications

    • Manage all aspects of UESC project development, from PA to IGA through task order development, including energy modeling, project pricing, and performance risk management, to deliver ECMs and the required energy cost savings associated with federal UESC requirements.

    • Provide engineering oversight and guidance throughout design development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports, cost estimates, RFI support, and presentations.

    • Manage the UESC project and business development process with Federal customers, identifying, assessing, and building relationships with customer stakeholders and decision-makers, identifying and developing feasible project opportunities that meet customer and Duke Energy needs.

    • Develop teams and execute Federal business plans to deliver contracted scope at high-quality while ensuring projects are built in compliance with Duke Energy's and all applicable codes, exceeding customer expectations.

    • Work closely with multiple colleagues that include business development, delivery, operations & maintenance, and contract/financing team members to deliver consistent, successful results to federal customers.

    • Develop and coordinate all equipment procurement associated with designated led projects (pricing, terms & conditions, delivery & storage, purchase orders) with Construction Project Management associated with designated led projects.

    • Target projects that provide reliable, high-quality services and deliver acceptable margins for the Company.

    • Develop and lead successful proposal responses that effectively and clearly articulate the technical and financial benefits of UESCs.

    • Manage projects by working to develop a diverse staff of project developers and assure staff comply with appropriate codes and standards.

    • Perform as the lead UESC project developer on specific projects, as needed.

    • Provide insight and coordinate with the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project (e.g., business development, project development, project controls, legal, federal compliance, operations, etc.).

    • Establish and communicate expectations to project and business development team and project team members and overall project stakeholders.

    • Develop metrics to monitor quality and performance results and ensure the execution of projects according to plan.

    • Regularly attend and participate in federal UESC customer meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.

    Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or other related degree

    • In addition to required degree, minimum eight (8) years relevant work experience

    Desired Qualifications

    • Extensive experience with delivering successful federal UESCs and performance contracts

    • Extensive federal performance contracting management experience; Construction Management knowledge; Strong expertise in project related Scheduling, Cost Controls, Quality, Risk, and development of UESC task order financial schedules

    • Experience developing and managing effective relationships with federal government officials, including military officers

    • Experience in contract compliance and administration management of federal contracts

    • Professional Engineer (P.E.)

    • Master's degree in engineering, business (MBA), project management, or equivalent

    • AEE credentials such as CEM, CEA, DGCP, and others; PMI (PMP) / CMII / AACE, Contractors License; ANSI-accredited credential relating to energy management

    • Delivery of project portfolios including diverse scope, schedule, and risk with annual budgets over 200 million

    • Extensive experience with performance contracting negotiation, and thorough knowledge of the entire phase of federal UESC and/or federal performance contracting project development, design, implementation, operations & maintenance, performance assurance/verification, and post-implementation payment requirements

    • Experience with third-party financingand management of financier relationships

    • Leadership experience including staff management, employee development and motivation of large teams

    • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking, problem solving and financial evaluation skills for large nontraditional utility budgets ( 30+ million budget); experience in accounting and tracking of expenses and revenues

    • Strategic thinking including ability to conceptualize new market approaches, determine how to test, and take necessary steps to deliver new strategy

    • Experience in contract negotiations

    • Strong experience in federal project management with associated project-related work experience

    • Position requires strong negotiation, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong presentation skills, a consultative approach to recommending process improvements, and staying up to date on key industry trends

    • Demonstrated effective decision-making skills, including the ability to make decisions and execute with limited information

    • Extensive knowledge of energy engineering, project development, construction, energy operations and maintenance, and the associated safety and risk mitigation requirements

    • Active security clearance

    Working Conditions
    • Virtual Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from a remote location after the onboarding period. However, virtual employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.

    • Position will require extensive travel (over 30%) for project and business development and customer-focused meetings, often including multi-day meetings and meetings outside of normal business hours.

    Job Summary

    The Lead Cook is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of culinary services for our Members and guests. This Employee maintains consistent food preparation and plate presentation for a la carte venues and catered events.

    Day-to-Day
    • Responsible for set-up and execution of daily prep and organization of individual daily workstations.
    • Preparation and storage of all food items necessary for the operation of the station in adherence with the company quality standards.
    • Communicate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef when special products are needed or if problems with food quality or presentation arise.
