  • Build and provision physical and virtual servers and storage in several locations.
  • Monitor server and storage health. Perform preventative and recovery measures when appropriate.
  • Update and patch servers, storage, and workstations for Windows in accordance with best practices, performance, and security.
  • Administer storage solutions, including permissions and sizing. Install and configure additional storage as needed.
  • Maintain Active Directory, including creating, modifying, deleting accounts, and maintaining file share permissions.
  • Maintain the Exchange environment including the archival, spam and malware tools associated with email.
  • Maintain replication between main Data Center and DR Site.
  • Work closely with each of the other groups in IT to provide the best possible network, uptime, and service to the Company's business units. Assist Help Desk with any issues related to the infrastructure or permissions.
  • Work with application owners with upgrades, patches and troubleshooting of issues and applications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution; OR
  1. At least two (2) years of system administration experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with Cisco UCS servers, NetApp and VMWare.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • At least two (2) years of experience Entrada ID (formerly Azure AD).

Maxar is seeking an experienced System Administrator with familiarity with implementing and maintaining CMMC security controls and procedures to contribute to an agile and fast-paced software development team environment in support of our USG customer's national security mission. Note: An active Secret Clearance is mandatory for this position, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Location: Westminster, Colorado

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Maintain both on-prem and AWS cloud server hardware, virtual hosts and network equipment in a laboratory environment including VMs, DevOps applications, and container orchestration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and application configuration issues.
  • Implement and maintain CMMC security controls, update asset lists and configuration tracking and contribute to internal Change Review Board meetings.
  • Collaborate with Software, DevOps and Test engineers to develop and implement iterative operational improvements.
  • Test and implement new system security configurations and architecture-based controls as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expert reach-back support for production systems at customer sites.
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary team and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.
  • Setting up, taking down, troubleshooting and maintaining tactical antenna hardware.

Skills Required

  • 5-10 years of technical experience maintaining information system hardware and applications in an environment with strict security compliance standards (for example, CMMC, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, PCI or HIPAA).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes software administration
  • Experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization software
  • Experience with Active Directory domain controllers in a mixed Windows and Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience with Linux administration (especially RedHat, Ubuntu)
  • Communicates effectively with a team both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to work onsite 60% or more as needs dictate
  • Associate's degree or higher in a Computer Science / Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering field from an accredited college or university OR active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent or higher certification

Additional Skills Desired

Some familiarity in these areas would be fabulous.

  • Can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with satellite ground station information systems used by the intelligence community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area is:

$130,000.00 - $150,000.00

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
