The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
***High-level responsibilities*** Looking for Transportation Operations Supervisor professional and strong leadership skills with excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of associates within the organization. Previous proven experience coaching, training, incident investigating, and developing cdl class A drivers and multi-level team. Previous metrics experience (Example- Safety, On-time Delivery and HOS monitoring). Strong leadership skills with DOT regulations knowledge and experience. The Operations Supervisor provides leadership to leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
- **Work Schedule:** Overnight Shift - Wednesday - Saturday 6 pm - 6 am (Flexibility working short staffed/peak season, based on the business needs)
**Salary range - $54,900-$72,700K - performance bonus - 12% max.**
**Position Summary:**
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc.workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
**Major Responsibilities:**
People
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable
- Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Conduct team meetings
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Conduct safety observations
Growth / Customer Experience
- Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily
- Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives
- Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
Fleet/Assets
- Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment
- Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment

- Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the Transportation department.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Ensure all drivers and other Transportation department associates are appropriately trained in job duties as well as safety and legal responsibilities.
- Oversee and develop drivers and Transportation associates by discussing performance with Sr. Transportation Managers and creating plans to address gaps.
- Create an atmosphere in which upward communication is encouraged, and motivate associates to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates within the Transportation department. Drive associate engagement and retention, and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.
- Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring Transportation personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Transportation Managers. Review performance, coach on service and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
- Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction. Anticipate, analyze and troubleshoot problems with deliveries and devise cost-effective and legal solutions; act to implement same. Ensure team understands and adheres to DOT regulations.
- Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine Safety and Driver Meetings.
Oversee maintenance of driver qualification files.
- Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes and take appropriate preventative action.
- Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)

Related Experience/Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
- Experience as a driver a plus.

- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.

What you will do in this role:
+ Deliver supplies in an accurate and timely manner
+ Is authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position
+ Place safety stock in proper location
+ Receive expedited deliveries, accurately key receiving into the SMART system, and deliver to appropriate department(s)
+ Receive all cross-docked items into the SMART system as appropriate
+ Review Min/Max for storeroom safety stock daily and place orders appropriately
+ Count par level areas (POU areas) weekly according to schedule

Understand demands from customers and responsible for the coordination of the relationship between Safran and the supplier. Visit suppliers and at completion of each trip provide a visit report. **Job Requirements**
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology/Management or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a global supplier performance role within aerospace industry. Stated experience must include: SAP ERP software; CPIM/APICS Certified; aerospace manufacturing or production management experience; Green Belt certification and project management training; and Supply Chain methods and practices (Line of Balance, procurement, waterfall, load and capacity, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis or equivalent methods and practices.) Must be willing to travel domestically 40% of working time and internationally 10% of working time.

Our North Texas Transportation Group is seeking to hire a mid-level Transportation Drainage Engineer with +4 years of experience in our global headquarters in our Dallas, TX or Fort Worth, TX office to support our highway, bridge, and rail projects throughout Texas. Using your experience, you'll work in a team, collaborative, and fast paced environment. You're typical work assignments may include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage hydraulic analysis and design, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, preparation of technical reports and memorandum, and preparation of construction plans, estimates, and specifications as required.
In this role you'll:
- Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
- Conduct drainage analysis and design per the requirements of the project and various transportation public agencies such as TxDOT and DART.
- Support the efforts in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Prepare projects specific drainage / hydraulic reports and technical memorandum.
- Provide hydraulic analysis for cross drainage structures and incorporate the results in the design with other disciplines (roadway and bridge).
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required from a U.S. ABET accredited school.
Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas is required or the ability to obtain in six (6) months from the hiring date if licensed in another state.
+4 years of experience working on mid- and/or large-scale transportation related projects providing drainage design, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses.
Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate all drainage design phases of a project with other team disciplines.
