About the Position
This role involves managing day-to-day domestic and international transportation processes utilizing various modes of transport to ensure timely deliveries to our DCs and customers. The individual will work closely with 3PLs and carriers to improve processes, reduce costs, and improve on time pick-up and delivery. The individual will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to help optimize the transportation network. The Transportation Specialist acts as a liaison between Account Management (Customer Service) and Logistics teams. Additionally, they will help manage both international and domestic FBAP (Freight Bill Audit and Payment) including individual invoice review and reconciling discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Track and trace inbound and outbound shipments from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring shipments.
- Provide performance feedback to third party carriers in ocean, dray, air, parcel, LTL, and PTL/FTL modes.
- Assist with freight bill audit and payment (FBAP) of international and domestic freight invoices through ERP systems and 3rd party reporting.
- Help manage shipment exceptions and use problem solving techniques to identify issues in real time and communicate resolution.
- Assist with rate quotes and carrier selection, and coordinate expedites or mode changes when needed.
- Assist Sr. Logistics Manager - International in working with ocean freight forwarders to track shipments, obtain updates, respond to customs requests, and revise documentation as needed.
- Work with 3PLs and carriers to optimize outbound transportation and manage consolidations when possible.
- Coordinate customer returns to DCs by communicating with multiple parties and utilizing proper decision-making techniques.
- Help organize Logistics inquiries and communication between internal and external parties.
- Develop processes to track performance of 3PLs and carriers.
- Provide status updates and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Reconcile landed costs and process manual inbound freight invoices.

- 2+ years' experience working in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management

About the Position
This role involves managing day-to-day domestic and international transportation processes utilizing various modes of transport to ensure timely deliveries to our DCs and customers. The individual will work closely with 3PLs and carriers to improve processes, reduce costs, and improve on time pick-up and delivery. The individual will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to help optimize the transportation network. The Transportation Specialist acts as a liaison between Account Management (Customer Service) and Logistics teams. Additionally, they will help manage both international and domestic FBAP (Freight Bill Audit and Payment) including individual invoice review and reconciling discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Track and trace inbound and outbound shipments from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring shipments.
- Provide performance feedback to third party carriers in ocean, dray, air, parcel, LTL, and PTL/FTL modes.
- Assist with freight bill audit and payment (FBAP) of international and domestic freight invoices through ERP systems and 3rd party reporting.
- Help manage shipment exceptions and use problem solving techniques to identify issues in real time and communicate resolution.
- Assist with rate quotes and carrier selection, and coordinate expedites or mode changes when needed.
- Assist Sr. Logistics Manager - International in working with ocean freight forwarders to track shipments, obtain updates, respond to customs requests, and revise documentation as needed.
- Work with 3PLs and carriers to optimize outbound transportation and manage consolidations when possible.
- Coordinate customer returns to DCs by communicating with multiple parties and utilizing proper decision-making techniques.
- Help organize Logistics inquiries and communication between internal and external parties.
- Develop processes to track performance of 3PLs and carriers.
- Provide status updates and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Reconcile landed costs and process manual inbound freight invoices.
- Utilizes Transportation expertise and data assessment to recommend and implement applicable changes to processes and reporting to optimize cost, service, and productivity.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- 2+ years' experience working in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related study OR 4+ years' experience working in similar roles.
- Ability to learn quickly, remain highly organized, multitask, and work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment within an office or remote setting.
- Extensive knowledge of ocean, air, parcel, LTL, PTL, and FTL freight; including tendering, tracking & tracking, documentation requirements, and invoicing.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word), ERP order management systems (NetSuite), are a plus.
- Experience working with 7501 U.S. customs entry forms a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Transportation and Distribution channels.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills with the ability to use judgment and tact, always putting the customer first. Experience working with and tailoring replies based on customer importance and size.
- Strong interpersonal skills; patient, enthusiastic and professional.
- Demonstrates sense of urgency to respond to and resolve internal or external inquiries.

What you will do:
The Transportation Specialist works closely with the Fleet Supervisor as his backup and partner. Together, you are responsible for overseeing our driving team ensuring all deliveries are being delivered in a safe, timely, and courteous manner. You will also be prioritizing and making sure that all drivers are following all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company driving policies and procedures
- Backup Driver when needed
- Plan, assign, direct routes, with Fleet Supervisor through Roadnet/Omnitracs system to ensure maximize operating efficiencies.
- Train/re-train Drivers, coach/mentor, address complaints and work in conjunction with sales to resolve delivery issues.
- Assist and communicate with the Driver team to ensure they have everything they need to run their daily route safely
- Assist with contacting Ryder or Penske and outside motor carriers for repairs and maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate and communicate daily with the Outbound Operations Team on loading preparation, tractor or trailer changes and any other daily issues.
- Finalize route and equipment assignments and daily loading reports with the Fleet Supervisor and Operations Departments.
- Collect all Drivers fuel receipts and Amex receipts to be reconciled per driver at the end of each month. Reconcile each Driver's Statement to ensure all receipts have been submitted.
- Provide information to Sales, Accounts Receivable, Customer Claims, New Accounts on driver ETA's, proof of delivery, RGA's, New Routes or Stops
- Assist Fleet Supervisor with Route/Stop changes
- Schedule and coordinate all 3rd party though Globaltranz
- Assist with Daily Driver Check Ins as the drivers come back from their routes.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Gather, organize and process driver daily paperwork, logs, manifest, vehicle inspection, etc.
