Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all aspects of e-commerce warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Developing and implementing efficient workflows for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping of orders.
- Ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Managing relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and shipping carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery.
- Implementing and utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, manage orders, and optimize space utilization.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve order accuracy.
- Leading and motivating warehouse staff (if applicable, even if remote supervision), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipment rates, and inventory turnover, and reporting on performance.
- Collaborating with e-commerce and customer service teams to ensure seamless order flow and resolve any fulfillment-related issues.
- Maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment, even when managing remotely.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Significant experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on e-commerce fulfillment, is essential. Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant operational software is required. Strong understanding of inventory control principles, order fulfillment processes, and shipping logistics is a must. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are crucial for identifying and implementing improvements. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are necessary. Strong communication and leadership skills are vital for coordinating with remote teams and external partners.
