Scope of the Role- Manage graphic project priorities supporting new business and product/customer artwork maintenance.
- Interact and collaborate with cross-functional counterparts in other areas of the organization.
- Interact and collaborate with external customers in support of artwork development.
- Collaborate with internal graphics leaders on projects and activities that support customer accounts.
- Manage and develop a team of Graphics Employees.
- Participate in the culture of continuous improvement in the Graphics organization.
- Provide support to the Associate Director - Graphics.
- Bachelor’s degree, with 5+ years’ work experience in project management. Art-related field preferred, not required.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite software preferred.
- Experience working in a structured environment is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with some experience making presentations.
- Able to communicate effectively with peers and all levels of management, including external customers.
- Good supervisory or leadership skills are necessary. Previous supervisory experience is preferred, not required.
- Experience in supporting or leading continuous improvement activities.

Position Overview
The San Jose Barracuda are looking to hire a Graphic Design Assistant, acting under the direction of the Barracuda Marketing and Digital Media Manager and Barracuda Graphic Designer. The Graphic Design Assistant will assist in the design and production of graphics for print and online advertising, social media and web, marketing collateral, promotional materials, and sponsor deck content for the San Jose Barracuda.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing a wide variety of creative assets
- Assist the Barracuda Graphic Designer with creative needs for projects and campaigns alongside various departments
- Create visual content for digital platforms, sales collateral, print collateral, merchandise, sponsorship decks, and spaces / experiences.
- Collaborate with Graphic Designers on full scale campaigns and help evolve visual brand identity for the San Jose Barracuda
- Assist on multiple design projects at any given time and execute according to established timeline and guidelines
- Ability and desire to follow design guidelines and direction
- Ability to work within project management tool (Asana)
- Ability to understand the needs of requestors, communicate effectively, and respond positively to feedback
- Interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build productive professional relationships across the company
- Be a team player with a positive attitude and sense of humor, contributing and working alongside current designers
- Be excited to work for one of the most iconic organizations in professional sports
- Retouch and manipulate images
- Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
- Receive feedback from the Manager, Marketing and Digital Media Manager and Barracuda Graphic Designer and make necessary changes
- Assemble final presentation material as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Graphic design experience with a portfolio or samples of work to present
- Graphic Design major preferred
- Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
- Must currently be studying Graphic Design or be a recent Graphic Design graduate looking to gain knowledge and experience from the Barracuda Graphic Designer.
- Intermediate Level Experience with Adobe Creative Suite -- Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is required, After Effects and Premiere a plus
- May be asked to work nights and weekends for games or special events, when necessary

- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time

ABOUT THE ROLE
AJ’s creative Brand Strategy team is responsible for shaping, developing, and managing branded investment platforms across the AJ portfolio. We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Director of Graphic Design to join our in-house Graphic Design team. The Director of Graphic Design is an experienced manager who can guide a team of designers throughout the full creative process, from strategic brainstorming to the final design execution across several brand platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support AJCP Leadership to create campaigns to support all branded platforms and verticals, including Partnerships, Content, Digital Marketing, and PR
- Develop creative concepts and deliverables that directly support growing general brand awareness and solve specific property needs for all branded platforms
- Direct and organize photoshoots, coordinating with photographers, stylists & producers to feature content including interiors, architecture, lifestyle imagery, food & drink and product
- Create new concepts to support the ongoing development and growth of brand platforms
- Effectively manage the Graphic Design team’s workloads, including managing priorities and deadlines
- Supervise and mentor the Graphic Design team to help further develop the skills needed for career advancement
- Work closely with the Brand Marketing team to ensure awareness campaigns and initiatives achieve brand objectives and KPIs
- Continue to maintain and elevate all brand platforms
WHO YOU ARE

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent relevant experience
- A minimum of 3+ years of art direction experience within a brand and 5+ years within the graphic design field
- Understanding and experience with photography and photoshoot processes
