Requirements
Apple Montessori Schools is committed to educational excellence, and with that commitment, we require our teachers and co-teachers to hold high credentials and demonstrate a strong dedication to early childhood education. For the various positions listed above they may require a bachelor's degree in education or similar field, associate's degree or CDA. All of our teachers, co-teachers, and teachers-in-training are required to obtain their Montessori certification within their first year of employment.
Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors; including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.

We are thrilled to invite a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to join our Team! In this role, you’ll work closely with children, particularly in preschool settings, providing individualized support and engaging, adaptive activities tailored to each child’s unique strengths. Brief Job Description
As a Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. You will also support to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum which reflects observations and goals of individual children and facilitate regular parent/guardian communication and conferences to discuss orientation, transitions, and developmental goals. Manage and supervise all operations of an assigned ECE infant/toddler/preschool room according to established procedures, including 3 -5 regular staff, substitutes for regular staff, 1 foster grandparent, and 15–24 children, during periods of the when the Lead Teacher is not in the room: including either early or late shift, lunch break, prep time and meeting times. During extended absences of the Lead Teacher including illness, vacation, or job vacancy, fulfills all the duties of that position.
Program Specific Responsibilities
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and creative and inclusive environment for all children
- Greeting parents or guardians cordially and professionally and exchanges accurate information concerning the child's needs and how his /her/ day has been daily.

- AA degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field of study preferred OR 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD) Units, including core courses (child/human growth and development; child/family/community and curriculum) and at least 3 units in administration and supervision of childcare development programs
- Must be willing to continue educational growth to obtain minimum qualifications of a Child Development Teacher's Permit and to continue educational growth towards a bachelor's degree.
- Must hold or be eligible for State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Associate Teacher Permit or above.
- Upon hire, must be able to pass a physical exam and TB screening, to meet Title 22 regulations as required
- Upon hire, must pass a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and a Child Abuse Index clearance as required by licensing
- Must complete all required licensing forms, including LIC 9052
- Mandated Reporting training required and renewed every two years
- Current certification for Pediatric First Aid/CPR is encouraged
- Professional ethics of confidentiality, discretion and good judgment.
- Must be able to lift 25-40 lbs. (may include lifting children or equipment)

Qualifications
JOB SUMMARYThe Teacher position reports to the Principal and is accountable for creating a learning and work environment of mutual respect and fairness, while encouraging creative and critical thinking through an equity lens. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Within the team structure, the Teacher provides quality preschool services for children enrolled in the Early Care and Learning Program which include the following responsibilities:
Classroom Management (80%)
- Ensure the daily functions of the classroom are completed satisfactorily.
- Supervise, evaluate, mentor, and train assigned teaching staff on performance management in the policies and procedures of CCRC Early Care and Learning.

- Responsible for lesson plans, assessments, summaries, observations, Desired Result Developmental Profiles (DRDP-PS), Individualized Education Plans IEPs) Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs), Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings (MDTM) notes, referrals, individual logs, participant's files, curriculum, end of the month paperwork, and center reports.
- Provide leadership by example and guidance to staff and volunteers, ensuring alignment with the vision and principles of CCRC and Early Care and Learning while maintaining professional standards.
- Provide professional guidance and instruction to enhance staff skills through systematic observation of participant's activities and experiences. Use assessment data to develop appropriate instructional plans for each student.
- Plan, develop, and implement appropriate services, ensuring daily operations of the classroom are successfully running from opening to closing. Organize, schedule, and plan for all classroom and center activities.
- Utilize and prepare the curriculum and supplemental materials to provide age-appropriate indoor / outdoor activities, including activities in the classroom to enhance the growth of children in all learning areas.
- Adapt the curriculum to address individual student requirements and learning objectives.
- Establish weekly goals that promote individual and group educational plans that support school readiness and facilitate transition into kindergarten.
- Partner with families to encourage experimentation, exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and ways interact with their children. Regularly communicate learning progress and resources to them.
- Provide and actively participate in all parent conferences, MDTM, home visits, IEP/IFSP processes and meetings, weekly planning meetings, and center staff meetings.
- Establish individual goals, communicate class progress, and provide educational strategies for parents to implement at school and in the home.
- Develop, maintain, and implement knowledge of age-appropriate practices, effective teaching strategies, Community Care Licensing, and all other applicable regulations.

Administrative Functions (20%)

Job Specifications
Minimum Required:
- Education : Bachelor's Degree in Early Education, Families Studies, or related field including a minimum of 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education, and must have 3 semester units in Infant/Toddler Development.
- Internal CCRC applicants may alternatively meet this requirement by holding an Associate's Degree, a minimum of 24 semester units in Early Childhood Education, participating in the waiver program, and must have 3 semester units in Infant/Toddler Development.

This Elective Teacher position is located in Waco, Texas at the University of Texas-University Charter School. This position will begin on August 11, 2025. The Teacher will provide instruction for students in grades 6-12 in a small classroom setting within a public charter school located at a residential facility (Methodist Children's Home). Class size is typically 15 or fewer students. All of the school services are provided on site at the Methodist Children's Home in Waco This position is on 194 days (10-month) traditional school calendar going from August through May. ResponsibilitiesCreate a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
