Night Shift Mechanic - Aggregate
ABOUT THE ROLE
Night Shift Mechanic is responsible for maintaining mining processing equipment in a state of readiness. Performs the appropriate inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on processing and conveying equipment. Prepares all required daily/weekly department operating reports. ($3,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS)
WHAT YOULL ACCOMPLISH
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment by following the manufacturers recommended service intervals and company procedures.
- Maintains an inventory of regularly required replacement parts.
- Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments. Reports required repairs or other findings to Supervisor.
- Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
- Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
- SCHEDULE: Shift differential rate paid/ Sunday off
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School diploma/equivalent
Required Work Experience: Experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in industrial environments.
- Must have basic mechanical aptitude and general industrial maintenance to include: stick welding, arc welding, lite fabrication, cutting torch, and wrenching (hand tools).
- Preferred experience: Operating a skid-steer, man-lift, and other industrial equipment
Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills.

- Overall, you will be responsible for the planning and staffing of a maintenance crew for a 2M tpy granite quarry.
- Assist Production Management in the scheduling and timing of repairs to all fixed and mobile aggregates equipment on the site, utilizing and prioritizing the Maintenance Backlog/work order system
- Promotion of and participation in the plant safety program
- Follow the rules and regulations defined by the company as well as federal, county & local government.
- Routine inspections of all assigned plant equipment.
- Comfortable, at a hands-on level, with welding techniques and practices for aggregates processing equipment
- Tracking, analysis, and recommendation for equipment performance, cost, and life.
- Providing direction to the maintenance and purchasing groups regarding technical purchases and equipment selection.
- Ensuring inventory and source of spare parts are consistent with plant equipment reliability and economic constraints.
- Ensure implementation of equipment modification and maintenance projects with respect to costs and schedule.
- Development of long term equipment maintenance strategies.

- Reads and interprets manuals, blueprints and technical drawings

- Ensure customers understand all relevant company policies including will calls, additional products ordered and driver responsibilities.
- Inform customers of warnings concerning product hazards, load limits, vehicle weights and limitations.
- Schedule workforce (drivers) on a daily basis with the intention of maximizing service and minimizing costs; manage drivers and monitor efficiencies throughout the day.
- Review next day orders to ensure they are correctly mapped, have accurate travel times, address and delivery instructions.
- Will be required to train and help in our shipping operation as needed.
