This is a semi-skilled and skilled work operating medium to heavy sized automotive maintenance or construction equipment in Public Works Stormwater Operations, Pipes/Structures & Ditch section.
The Automotive Equipment Operator 1 (AEO 1) position operates medium and heavy equipment of more than 10-ton capacity or that requires manipulative ability. An AEO 1 at this classification operates more complex and specialized equipment such as dump trucks, front end loaders, and is required to exercise skill and care in the operation of equipment.
An employee working in the AEO1 category is responsible for the routine maintenance of vehicles and, when not driving, do light to heavy physical labor. Work is performed in all types of weather elements and in an environment with heavy equipment and machinery that could result in bodily harm to co-workers or others.
What Would You Do?
- Pick-ups and hauls materials as assigned.
- Operates basic trucks or a variety of small gasoline-powered machinery and equipment.
- Assists labor work crew during construction or repair work and sets flags and barricades, or acts as flagger for traffic safety control as required.
- Performs daily safety inspections, minor maintenance work, and servicing of the truck or tractor.
- Demonstrates basic computer skills to perform record keeping tasks and time records.
- Confers with supervisor to determine work priorities and resolve work problems.
- Performs related work as assigned or required.

- Define and track KPIs to measure success of AI and automation initiatives (e.g., time saved, cost reduction, accuracy gains, adoption rates, engagement, quality)
- Maintain centralized dashboards and reporting to communicate outcomes to executive leadership
- Champion an AI‑driven culture grounded in experimentation and learning
- Develop and sponsor enterprise‑wide AI fluency and enablement programs to upskill employees and leaders
- Lead structured organizational change management efforts to shift mindsets, workflows, and behaviors
- Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight
- 10+ years of experience in ML/AI, process automation, or digital transformations
- Proven record of leading cross‑functional transformations with measurable business impact
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and automation capabilities (LLMs, APIs, data pipelines, workflow orchestrations, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly deliver enterprise‑scale solutions and iterate from prototype to production in weeks, not months
- Executive‑level communication, facilitation, and change management skills
- Familiarity with tools such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, UiPath, Power BI, etc.
- Experience analyzing, implementing, and optimizing platform‑fit AI solutions in GTM solutions (e.g., Salesforce, Clay, Chorus, Salesloft) and support and operations platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ZenDesk, Outreach, NetSuite)
- Experience setting up a Center of Excellence or internal enablement and governance function
