Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical therapy evaluation and treatment for patients in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on improving mobility, strength, and functional independence.
  • Conduct gait training, post-operative rehabilitation (hip, knee, shoulder, spinal surgeries), and neurologic rehab (stroke, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injury, TBI).
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and recovery strategies.
  • Document patient assessments, evaluations, and discharge plans accurately using Epic EMR.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active state Physical Therapy license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience.
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in outpatient, rehab hospital, or skilled nursing settings.
  • Knowledge of orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation (including total joint replacements, spinal conditions, and gait training).
  • Familiarity with billing for Medicare A, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
  • Use of patient care equipment such as gait belts, hospital beds, call lights, and sliding boards.
  • Prior travel or multi-facility experience (preferred but not required).
