As a Speech Language Pathologist, you help patients get their power back . You are the person who can help people communicate, swallow, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. In doing this, you take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services, you design the plan, and work with patients to execute those plans.

Responsibilities:Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.
Basic computer skills required.
Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served
Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient
Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.

Pediatric Physical Therapist the following also apply:
Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions. Addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc.
Interviewing children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder.
Ability to evaluate and treat patient from 18yrs old and older.
Float to adult units if needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates.
Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18yrs old, regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
Settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.
Qualifications:Less than one year of experience in physical therapy.
