Summary of Position: The Assistant Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, preservation, operation, and readiness of the ship's propulsion machinery, mechanical and electrical systems, and damage control equipment. The AE is also responsible for fueling, pollution control, liquid load and ballasting, logs and record keeping, procurement and inventory control, and storage and accountability of all HAZMATs. Depending on the vessel, the AE may act as Chief Engineer or the engineer in charge of a watch in a periodically unmanned engine room.

Qualifications:

* Valid USCG MMC
* Assistant Engineer - Oceans, Any HP, Limited - 1600 GRT/3000 ITC License (may sub 3a/e, 2a/e, or 1a/e Motor License)
* Valid STCW with all required endorsements (including, but not limited to Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch, Advanced Firefighting, and Medical Care Provider)
* Lifeboatman Endorsement
* Valid TWIC
* Valid Passport - must be able to travel internationally with no restrictions
* CPR/First Aid
* A physical and pre-employment drug test are also pre-requisite of employment.

Essential Functions:

Vessel Maintenance

* Troubleshoots and repairs all engines, pumps, machinery, deck machinery, and electrical components
* Maintains proper markings, tags, and color coding of various systems
* Responsible for general housekeeping of engineering spaces

Safety

* Responsible for proper maintenance of onboard alarms and safety systems
* Responsible for safety of personnel in engine room

Miscellaneous

* Responsible for monthly engineering reports to be submitted to management
* Utilizing the company's maintenance software(Helm) for tracking and executing preventative maintenance.
* Maintains vessel parts inventory levels
* Works on deck as needed: handles lines, makes/breaks tow
* Other jobs as directed

Supervisory and Leadership of Direct Staff

* Supervises and trains junior engineers on maintenance procedures
* Serves as Foss "Field Representative" during major machinery overhauls
* Performs all Vessel Maintenance System - Engine Room inspections
* Trains deckhand-engineers in preventive maintenance procedures

Knowledge & Skills:

* Strong maritime background with a thorough understanding of vessel operations and equipment capabilities/limitations
* Ability to independently implement all routine engineering procedures
* Implements appropriate casualty control measures in response to engineering casualties
* Reads/interprets technical data, specifications, and drawings
* Basic knowledge of welding and burning procedures and hot work safety precautions
* Ability to safely transfer fuel and oils
* Knowledge of MARPOL regulations and pollution prevention procedures
* Maintenance and operation of bilge, ballast, fire, fresh water and sanitary systems
* Ability to communicate, in English, across all written, spoken and listening levels

Working Conditions: Works in engine room in hot, wet, humid, noisy, and odorous conditions. Occasionally exposed to paints, solvents, thinners, and fumes.

We currently have openings in Gulf! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist's in performing and verifying all inspections and making machinery rounds to ensure proper functionality of machinery onboard. Standing watch in the engine room as directed. Maintaining an accurate logbook and keeping all other engine related records/logs up to date. Overview

Maintain the vessel's engine room and equipment in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed. Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

ENGINE ROOM WORK:

* Preventive maintenance and underway repairs on main engines and gears, pumps, motors, plumbing, deck machinery (including towing winch(es)), and auxiliary generator units.
* Perform routine periodic maintenance about tug and on barge as needed.
* Maintain proper liquid levels for tug operations.
* Perform lubrication services.
* Monitor and record operating condition of engine room equipment.
* Maintain daily log with proper readings and times.
* Engine room must be kept clean and ready for operation at all times.
* Wash down engine room weekly and at every decrew.
* Fuel tug.

DECK WORK:

* Make up all tows as directed by captain or mate.

**Summary**
We are looking for a driven and talented individual to join our team in advancing the development of cutting-edge cell therapy processes and products-from early-stage research through to commercial manufacturing. In this hands-on, laboratory-based role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of T cell therapy by:

You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across the organization to design and refine robust, scalable manufacturing processes that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following**
Design and execute development and characterization studies for autologous and/or allogeneic cell therapy unit operations, driving innovation in cellular process development. Analyze and interpret experimental data using statistical tools and methodologies; clearly communicate insights through presentations and technical discussions. Manage and maintain comprehensive experimental datasets across multiple studies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Document experimental work promptly and thoroughly in electronic laboratory notebooks, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards. Author detailed technical reports summarizing experimental design, execution, and outcomes to support internal decision-making. Draft and revise technical documentation to facilitate seamless technology transfer and support cross-functional collaboration. Support manufacturing investigations, including deviations and CAPAs, by providing technical expertise and process insights. Contribute to extended characterization efforts for clinical materials, ensuring timely and high-quality data generation to support product development.
**Skills/Knowledge Required**
+ Bachelor's degree in Biochemical, Chemical, or Biomedical Engineering, or a related biological science discipline.
+ Foundational knowledge of CAR-T cell therapy and its applications in clinical and commercial settings.
+ Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques, demonstrating strong technical and experimental laboratory skills.
+ Ability to apply engineering principles and statistical tools-including Design of Experiments (DoE)-to guide study design and process optimization.
+ Highly driven with a strong desire to learn and grow; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
+ Exceptional ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $63,000 - $79,000,
plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
