Responsibilities:
+ Implement automated processes. Inspection, pick and place, sorting, vision systems, etc.
+ Program and setup robotic arms, and controllers.

Qualifications:
+ Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering.
+ Should have at least three (3) years of previous experience with automated systems, robot arms, vision, PLC's or other controls.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing of precision electro-mechanical components or similar products.
+ Knowledge of miniature resistance welding and plating processes is a plus.
+ Requires a high degree of creative ability, engineering skill, interpersonal skills and independent judgment. Work on assignments normally requiring broad theoretical knowledge.
+ Hands-on manufacturing skills in assembling and testing precision electromechanical components is preferred.
+ Keen and disciplined analytical skills to analyze problems and able to employ applied engineering methods to real world manufacturing problems.
+ Solve production and field issues, implement solutions in a structured and timely manner.
+ Ability to conceive and design tools and processes to increase product quality and reliability.

Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is looking for a Process Automation Engineer to join our Maintenance team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado. The Process Automation Engineer is responsible for developing new industrial processes and designing new process plants and equipment or modifying existing ones in an industrial setting.

• Support rolling mills and steelmaking production and maintenance at highly automated steel manufacturing plant
• Design, develop, and implement control systems (hardware & software) to improve production times, steel quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, down-time reduction, and process automation
• Obtain complete understanding of company process control systems and their impact on the production line beginning with scrap melting through refining steel, liquid to solid transformation and finished product
• Make recommendations for development action; analyze, modify and improve programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human-machine interfaces (HMI)
• Design and monitor performance indicators, create the necessary bridges between control site and company information systems
• Provide on-going maintenance support and resolution of process control system problems, including taking ownership of such problems to completion
• Write requirements specifications, and high-level design and systems architecture specifications related to control of steel production processes

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PLC programming on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, motor drive programming, and system troubleshooting. Experience with Ignition development is highly desirable. In this role, you will design, optimize, and maintain automated systems to ensure efficient and reliable operations. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will manage two automation resources.

Responsibilities :

• Conceptualize, design, build, and troubleshoot automation solutions on Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms to improve process and equipment performance. Solutions may also involve robotics, vision/camera, and motion systems.
• Develop a clear, detailed project scope through stakeholder engagement, create a realistic timeline and execution plan, manage progress and task completion by fellow team members while keeping stakeholders informed, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction upon completion.
• Write clear job specifications to ensure effective competitive bidding and enforce contractor/supplier compliance with all of Tarkett's safety requirements while onsite.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. For emergency manufacturing and maintenance support, the automation engineer may receive direction from the facility maintenance or plant manager(s).
• Assist with training of electricians and mechanics on machine operation and troubleshooting to minimize dependency on automation engineer support.
• Collaborate with process engineering and cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning for new and updated automated processes.
• Maintain (backup) and update technical documentation, including electrical drawings (AutoCAD), system configurations and programming files.
• Attend certain technical training classes, as deemed necessary by the Engineering Manager, and pass this knowledge along to peers and/or electrical maintenance personnel.
• Monitor the age, obsolescence, and operating condition of all control systems (i.e., PLC, HMI, motor controls, heat controls, etc.) and create / manage capital projects to upgrade or replace these systems when required.
• Integrate Ignition development into control systems for enhanced functionality and performance.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend system improvements.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience in machine automation control or 8+ years of applied experience in related field plus relevant technical education/certifications.
• Proven experience in PLC programming with Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, motor drive programming, robotic programming/troubleshooting, and vision systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Demonstrated success in project management.
• Familiarity with Ignition development and scripting is required.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation systems, protocols, and standards.
• Effective written and oral communication with team members and stakeholders of various backgrounds and levels.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Experience in AutoCAD in order to develop and maintain electrical schematics.

Preferred Qualifications :

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and implement automation control systems for various industrial processes and warehouse distribution equipment. This role requires a strong background in engineering principles, programming languages, and control system technologies. This role will focus on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance of equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices and programs. • Enforce and follow a strict documentation process for all automation processes and programs. Must adhere to client's Automation Change Management procedures.
• Work closely with client teams such as building Operations, and various Engineering, Continuous improvement and other support teams to drive MHE systems optimization and project implementation.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, ASi bus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations for system performance issues and provide analysis across all operations.
• Act as the first level of escalation support to both site technician and automation engineers professionals, during and after business hours, troubleshooting locally and remotely and repair all controls hardware and software systems within the building.
• Appropriately escalate downtime situations to vendors and senior leadership for support to restore equipment operation.
• *Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes and implement process improvements or retraining to avoid future incidents.
• *Routinely assess material handling system performance and drive continuous improvement projects that deliver improved system performance and cost savings to the client.
• Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership, operations and the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering team. Explain production impacts and partner with operations to identify, develop and enforce operational work-around procedures in the event of system failures.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment.

• Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel

• Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion

• Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan

• Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control

Your Responsibilities:

• Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)

• Complete a pre-employment medical

• Obtain a criminal background check

• Bring approved work shoes
