The analyst will be involved with creating reports for a wide variety of insurance products across the following lines of business: Personal Auto (Non-Standard, Standard/Preferred), Commercial Auto and General Liability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand their business reporting needs and translate requirements into effective reporting, visualization and actionable insights.
  • Conduct analysis, interview business partners and contribute to recommendations and solutions.
  • Support the streamlining and automation of ad-hoc and standardized reporting functions on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Interact with management, IT developers and users to ensure timely delivery of relevant and user-friendly reporting.
  • Assist in the identification of key performance metrics to analyze trends and measure performance.
  • Gather requirements and frame out new reports based on current business initiatives.
  • Provide suggestions to enhance current reporting capabilities to meet future business needs.
  • Develop strategies and processes to increase automation and accuracy, and implement quality controls.
  • Utilize automation tools to schedule, execute and monitor jobs on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for reports and procedures.
  • Improve current processes through effective use of innovative technology, while leveraging alternative delivery solutions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD BRING:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Computer/Mathematics/Actuarial Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with property & casualty insurance products in a business or data analyst capacity
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & Access knowledge

SUMMARY

We are looking for a detail oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in shaping the financial insights that drive business decisions, improve performance, and support long term strategic planning. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use Python for data cleaning, analysis, automation, and scripting to streamline financial processes.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to analyze trends, forecast performance, and identify key drivers of financial results.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reporting tools and data pipelines.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and Operations.
  • Monitor KPIs and develop models to support financial planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reporting by gathering and verifying financial data.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-7 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and patterns affecting our Ads Taxonomy table. Translate data findings into actionable insights and recommendations for the core team.
  • Data Collection and Strategy: Develop and implement effective data collection systems and strategies to support automation and integration projects. Ensure data accuracy, availability, integrity and reliability for various initiatives.
  • SQL Expertise: Utilize efficient SQL writing and querying techniques to troubleshoot issues directly within the Snowflake data warehouse. Optimize queries for performance and maintainability.
  • Scripting and Automation: Execute Shell/Python scripts using command line tools to fulfill data delivery requirements, reruns, and restatements. Leverage Python scripting to automate tasks and processes.
  • Data Workflows and Insights: Work with data tools including SQL, Tableau, and Python to automate data workflows. Build meaningful insights through data visualizations, standardized reports, and dashboards for ad-hoc analyses.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics).
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques (preferred but not required).

Overview

The Data Analyst will collect and interpret data, identify faults and opportunities, and prepare recommendations for strategies and
tactics. Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.

Responsibilities

    Conduct data analysis using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources to develop metrics, reports and visualizations of trends and patterns
  • Develop and maintain databases, and data systems - reorganizing data in a readable format
  • Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data, produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc
  • Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
  • Develop reports for the management team stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data to provide recommendations based on data analyses and research
  • Assign numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time


Qualifications

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor degree or equivalent Required

Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years Experience in data analysis and reporting Required
  • 1-3 years Experience in Transportation / Logistics Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AS400, Tableau, and Power BI (High proficiency)
