DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing direct outreach, escort, and referral services for all homeless individuals encountered in the field during their shift. Also responsible for recording and maintaining accurate statistical data on all individuals approached and referred as well as case-record management of clients receiving longer-term services. Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health and substance abuse issues and gain a working knowledge of all available services.
QUALIFICATIONS:Associates or Bachelor's degree required or demonstrated equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Will also consider current BRC employees in Community Technician, Program Aide, and other comparable positions with a minimum of 6 months of continuous employment. Must have strong interest in working in direct services to the homeless and/or mentally ill and substance abusing populations. Valid state driver's license preferred. Good writing skills to provide an adequate written description of client interactions. Basic computer literacy required. Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health and substance abuse issues and gain a working knowledge of all available services. Ability to speak Spanish desirable.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
BRC Homeless Outreach works with unsheltered individuals on the streets and in transportation hubs of Manhattan to motivate them to accept services that will get them off the streets both initially and for the long term. To achieve housing for our clients, the BRC Homeless Outreach team builds trust with each individual, breaks down resistance to services, and remains determinedly focused on identifying appropriate and acceptable placements for our clients. The program operating with funding from the NYS Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Amtrak, the East Midtown Partnership and the Downtown Alliance.

MHS is seeking Driving Instructors (Certified or Non-Certified) for after school and weekend behind the wheel driving instruction. Driver's Education Certification and prior driving instruction experience strongly preferred. The Driving Instructor is responsible for preparing high school students for their PA Driver's license in accordance with the PA Drivers Manual. This is a behind the wheel instructional role. The instructor is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of operating a vehicle safely and proper driving management techniques. All duties must be performed in strict conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. There is a 20-25 hour expectation required each week, primarily afternoons and weekends, flexing to meet students' schedules. This position pays $23.60/hour for non-certified and $36.35/hour for certified instructors. This is an on-site position located in Hershey, PA.
**Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Driver's Education Certification preferred.
+ Five or more years' experience as a driver and a clean driving record required.
+ Valid PA driver's license in good standing required.

What you’ll do:
Every day, you will conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel training to drivers of all ages and experience levels as prescribed by the AAA Driving School curriculum and training program.

You will schedule driving appointments, maintain up to date knowledge of state DMV laws and regulations, maintain knowledge of safe driving and defensive driving practices and maintain all records required by the state of Maine.
What You’ll Need:
Driving instruction experience, teaching, or education experience preferred.
You have comprehensive knowledge of state and local traffic laws, ordinances, safety policies and procedures.
You will have basic skills in Word and Excel to schedule students and complete reports.
You are confident in your ability to interact well with the public and teens specifically.
You have a strong motivation to improve safe driving practices of all drivers.
You are flexible enough to accommodate the availability of our students, which means working weekday schedules starting as late as 12 pm during the school year and teaching on at least one weekend day per week.
Must Haves:
You must be 21 years of age with 4 years of driving experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Pass a background check and drug test.
