Current need is for instructors to teach in our Corrections Education Program (CEP) in St Louis. CEP courses are taught face-to-face within correctional institutions and require additional background screening to obtain clearance from the State of Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN).
Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments will vary from semester to semester and are based on enrollment. Therefore, there may be semesters where no assignments are available.
Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers. Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or on-line. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Compile, administer, and grade examinations. Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.). Assist students in connecting to college resources.
Minimum QualificationsMaster degree or higher in Geology OR Master degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in Geology.

The Department of Geosciences within the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science (COS) at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Hard Rock Geology and/or Tectonics beginning August 2026.
Research/Scholarship Responsibilities - The candidate will conduct research in any broad area of hard rock geology. The candidate should have a strong record of research accomplishments, demonstrated potential for extramural funding, and a commitment to excellence in education. FAU possesses a culture that fosters internal collaboration and innovation as well as partnerships with local, national, and international agencies, and thus candidates must display strong collaborative potential and the ability to conduct transformative externally funded research within their area of specialization.

Transcripts:
The selected candidate for this position is required to submit an official transcript sent directly from the institution for the Provost's credential file prior to the first day of employment. Similarly, for degrees from outside the United States, the evaluation by an organization belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES), with an indication of the documents the evaluation was prepared from (official transcripts, diplomas, dissertation abstracts) is required for the Provost's credential file prior to the first day of employment.
