The School Teacher implements the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The School Teacher maintains a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and establishes effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management. The School Teacher works effectively with the building administrator and other teachers.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher required
+ Teacher license/certification, as applicable by state or contract/district
+ One year of experience as a school teacher, preferred
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

Salary Range: $45,000 to $47,000
Duties & Responsibilities
- The High School Teacher reports to the Academic Manager and is a salaried, exempt position.
- The High School Teacher performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
- The High School Teacher promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
- Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
- Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
- Maintains student personnel folders.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
Qualifications:
- Certified to teach in state in which center is located .
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of required subject area. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Ability to motivate and inspire students and effectively relate to the trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Position requires an ability to operate household appliances and drive an automobile. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

The Youth Education Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering educational instruction that addresses the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of youth who have been adjudicated delinquent or are at risk of delinquency. This role combines classroom teaching with mentorship and behavioral support, fostering an environment of accountability, personal growth, and rehabilitation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Current Valid state teaching certification (Special Education, Secondary Education, or Alternative Education license often preferred) or willingness to attend training to earn certification while working for the school.
- Experience working with at-risk youth, particularly those involved in the juvenile justice system.
- Strong classroom management, trauma-informed teaching, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Preferred Skills:
- Training in behavioral intervention strategies (PBIS, CPI, etc.).
- Familiarity with restorative justice, youth development principles, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
- Ability to handle high-stress environments with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
Salary Range:
$55,000 – 85,000 annually, depending on experience, credentials, and work setting.
