Job Description
The School Teacher implements the daily instructional plansof the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The School Teacher maintains a classenvironment favorable to learning and personal growth and establishes effectiverapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management. The School Teacher works effectively with thebuilding administrator and other teachers.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher required
+ Teacher license/certification, as applicable by state orcontract/district
+ One year of experience as a school teacher, preferred
+ Willingness and ability to accept direct responsibility forsafety, wellbeing, or work output of other people
+ Ability to read and implement instructional plans,correspond with parents and administration, and effectively present informationand respond to questions from administration, parent, students, staff members,and the general public as requested
+ Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Teacher to join our 7–12 teaching team and help guide students academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment. Subject areas: English and/or Science
Major Responsibilities and Tasks
○ Develops lesson plans and manages the learning experiences for students to ensure the needs of the groups and individual students are met.
○ Assists students toward self-directed learning and normalization.
○ Maintains a neat, well-organized, and attractive prepared environment consistent with Montessori pedagogy.
○ Participates in professional activities designated by the Head of School, which may include workshops, curriculum retreats, meetings, grade reporting, planning, and other professional pursuits.
○ Attends all pre-announced staff meetings, professional sessions and parent meetings.
○ Works to develop close and effective relationships with parents, including opportunities to discuss and understand the child’s progress; encourages them to bond with both the class and the larger school community; provides individualized tracking of student progress.
○ Participates in the admissions process, speaking from time to time with prospective families--at the request of the Principal of the school.
○ Follows the school’s policies and procedures for student evaluation and record keeping, meeting all due dates as required; includes the administration of standardized tests (if applicable).
○ Assesses the needs of the class and prepares requests for materials, furnishings, and framework of the budgeting process; updates inventory list and submits to appropriate management.
○ Other job duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
○ Bachelor’s Degree in E.C.E.
○ Montessori Certificate preferred
Physical Requirements
○ Ability to lift 25-35 lbs.
○ Ability to walk, kneel, sit, and stand for long periods.
