- Direct the day to day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.
- Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
- Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.

- Prepare and administer medications and treatment as ordered by the physician.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
- Notify resident's physician and emergency contact when there is a change in resident's condition.
- Ensure that personnel providing direct care to residents are providing such care in accordance with the resident's care plan and wishes.
- Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing services personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report problem areas to the Nurse Supervisor.
- Ensure that department personnel, residents and visitors follow the departments established policies and procedures at all times.
- Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
- Ensure that your assigned work areas (nurse stations, medicine preparation room) units resident care rooms, treatment areas, are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Experience Education
- At least year of working experience as a Nurse is preferred.
- Must have an RN, LPN/LVN degree from an accredited college or university.

- Strong computer skills are needed for use of our electronic charting and medical records systems - Point Click Care (PCC).
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must be willing to accept new methods and principles and be able to incorporate them into existing nursing procedures.

+ Clinical Procedures:
+ Performs diagnostic tests, therapies and procedures within scope of practice competently and with maintenance of proficiency according to: a) specific department standards on core clinical tasks (see departments list of core skills); b) application of knowledge and skills appropriate to developmental age of patient; and c) established policies such as and not limited to patient safety, aseptic and sterile techniques and infection control. Examples of categories of clinical tasks are:
+ Screening tests - e.g. vital signs, vision, hearing, developmental, LOPS, pain, etc.
+ Diagnostic tests - e.g. urine dips and drug, spirometry/PFT, bladder scan, O2 saturation rate, allergy skin testing, treadmill assist, etc.
+ Medication administration via oral, topical, otic, rectal, vaginal, IM, SubQ, intradermal, IV (includes insertion & d/c of peripheral line, use of pump), ophthalmic, bladder, inhalation and nasal routes.
+ Wound care - e.g. routine and complex dressing changes, staple/suture removal, ostomy, drains management, etc.

+ Practice Management Activities: These job tasks are primarily indirect patient care (i.e. non face-to-face) to be performed competently, accurately and consistently according to established regional/departmental clinical protocols, policies and procedures and standards. They are:
+ Maintains and adjusts clinicians patient schedule for efficient patient that facilitate appointed visits and overbooks.
+ Answers and responds to in-coming messages/requests via telephone, mail or kp.org from patient or other department(s) by collecting and communicating pertinent data requiring clinicians review and input. Responds to messages on routine medical concerns that can be addressed by giving advice or health instructions.

Basic Qualifications:

Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required.
The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients, and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. This position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend over. The employee may occasionally be required to push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force. The employee may be required to lift and to lower solutions on a frequent basis of up to 30 lbs., and on an occasional lift basis up to 40 lbs., as high as 5 feet. There is a two-person assist program and "material assist” devices for the heavier items.
EDUCATION
- Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification or High School diploma or G.E.D. and must meet certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
- All appropriate state licensure, education and training (if any) required.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
- Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the FMCNA dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification.

Job Description
? Direct the day to day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.
? Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
? Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
? Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
? Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
? Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
? Transcribe physician orders into resident's electronic medical record.
? Implement resident care plan upon completion of admission assessment.
? Chart all reports of accidents/incidents and complete all required assessments. Submit to Director of Nursing or Designee as required.
? Ensure accurate documentation in all areas of residents electronic medical record
? Prepare and administer medications and treatment as ordered by the physician.
? Ensure that an adequate supply of floor stock medications, supplies, and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Nurse Supervisor.
? Notify resident's physician and emergency contact when there is a change in resident's condition.
? Ensure that personnel providing direct care to residents are providing such care in accordance with the resident's care plan and wishes.
? Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing services personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report problem areas to the Nurse Supervisor.
? Ensure that department personnel, residents and visitors follow the departments established policies and procedures at all times.
? Ensure that rooms are ready for new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
? Ensure that your assigned work areas (nurse stations, medicine preparation room) units resident care rooms, treatment areas, are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
? Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

Experience Education
? At least year of working experience as a Nurse is preferred.
? Must have an RN, LPN/LVN degree from an accredited college or university.
Specific Requirements
? Strong computer skills are needed for use of our electronic charting and medical records systems - Point Click Care (PCC).
? Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
? Must be willing to accept new methods and principles and be able to incorporate them into existing nursing procedures.
? Must use safe work practices by following policies and procedures.
? Must maintain a neat appearance and wear the required Marquis uniform for your department.
? Must have patience, tact and a positive attitude, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
? Accepts reassignments of duties and/or case load as needed to provide the necessary care for all residents.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
? Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position.
? Must successfully pass a Criminal History check in accordance with the laws of this state.
? Must successfully pass a drug screen and/or physical examination if requested.
