Our client is seeking a technical manager to lead their network engineering team with a vision and guidance to define and support The Company's strategy. This role will be key in designing their network and growing the skills and value of their global engineering team. Driving Standardization and Innovation in their infrastructure. Responsibilities: Develop a multi-year strategy and roadmap to manage network growth, capacity, and evolving priorities. Prioritize initiatives to satisfy business requirements amongst internal improvements. Manage their hardware lifecycle. Collaborate with internal groups to gather requirements, propose designs, implement solutions, and support their global trading infrastructure. Work with project management groups to define priorities and timelines. Establish and maintain robust and secure network connections between on-premise data centers and cloud, ensuring optimal performance and high availability. Be available at all times for issue escalation and to provide team support. Routinely work weekends and off hours to support changes outside of market hours. Requirements: 5+ years of managing or leading Network Engineering Operations; trading industry experience required. 10+ years of network engineering and operations experience, with deep design, implementation, and support experience. Experience managing many projects and workflows with changing priorities, utilizing tools like Jira/Kanban. Relentless tenacity for solving complex technical problems. Experience using Python, Ansible, and Jinja2 to build automations and manage the network as code. Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, PIM/Multicast, MPLS. Experience with timing infrastructure such as GPS, PTP, PPS, and NTP. Experience with site-to-site VPNs and firewalls. Experience with AWS cloud networking concepts and comfortable deploying them. Experience deploying and supporting multiple vendors: Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Accedian. Experience with operating Linux systems. Passionate about high-quality work and relentlessly pursue continuous improvement. Good with people and able to explain complex problems in a non-technical way for others to understand, both in writing and verbally. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with network testing tools like Spirent and Ixia for building scale model tests of network infrastructure. Experience building and deploying databases.
