- Lead the deployment and scaling of network automation frameworks using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or API‑driven integrations with associated automating tools.
- Establish standards and reusable automation playbooks for provisioning, configuration drift detection, patch orchestration, and service validation.
- Champion observability initiatives to unify network telemetry, performance analytics, and event correlation through AIOps and modern monitoring platforms.
- Manage technology partnerships and contracts to ensure alignment with automation and operational excellence goals.
- Collaborate with the IT Procurement organization to negotiate vendor terms that include knowledge transfer, embedded enablement, and automation tool integration.
- Develop and manage annual budgets covering network engineering projects, tools, people and lifecycle investments.
- Build and mentor a high‑performing, automation‑focused network engineering team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and cross‑domain collaboration between infrastructure and security teams.
- Establish clear performance and skill development goals around automation adoption and operational efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive architecture diagrams, automation scripts, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure network change management and configuration baselines are governed through code repositories and approval workflows.
- Partner with Information Security to implement network segmentation, policy automation, and compliance reporting as required.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing enterprise‑scale, multi‑vendor environments.
- Deep expertise in:
- Core Networking: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, VPN, SD‑WAN.
- Network Security: Palo Alto and Fortigate firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, Zero Trust, segmentation.
- Automation & Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Design and deployment of automation frameworks using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and RESTful APIs.
- Configuration Management & Patching: Implementation of automated network configuration enforcement, drift detection, and lifecycle patch management.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $155,000 to $248,200 per year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.

The RoleWe’re looking for a senior level, hands‑on Network Security Engineer to design, deploy, and secure our global corporate network across offices in North America and EMEA/APAC. You’ll be the technical authority for secure networking architecture, driving automation, and ensuring our infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and vendor‑agnostic. This role will partner closely with Corporate Technology, SRE, and Security Engineering and requires the ability to travel globally for deployments.
Who You Are- 8–10+ years in enterprise networking and network security, with multi‑site design and operations experience.
- Deep expertise in routing, switching, and segmentation; strong firewalling skills.
- Proven experience with Cisco networking technology, especially Cisco Meraki.
- Proficient in Python and Ansible for automation.
- Skilled in NAC/RADIUS integrations with identity providers (Okta, Azure AD).
- Strong understanding of certificate‑based authentication, EAP, and zero‑trust architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and leadership skills.
- Willing and able to travel internationally for deployments.
- Cloud networking depth (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with SASE/ZTNA platforms (Cloudflare, Zscaler).
- Professional certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, etc.).
- Architect and implement secure LAN/WAN/SD‑WAN and Wi‑Fi for multiple global offices.
- Manage Cisco Meraki switches/routers/firewalls and APs, while staying vendor‑agnostic for future integrations.
- Deploy and manage network security controls including segmentation, NAC/802.1X, VPN, SWG/SASE, ZTNA, IDS/IPS, and DLP.
- Implement and manage Wi‑Fi EAP (Enterprise Authentication), certificate‑based authentication, and enforce zero‑trust access controls.
- Plan and optimize enterprise Wi‑Fi, including RF design, surveys, and performance tuning.
- Build secure cloud and hybrid networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Automate deployments and configuration management with Python, Ansible, and IaC tools (Terraform, GitOps).
- Implement observability and alerting; drive improvements in MTTR and service reliability.
- Support compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001) with secure configs, change control, and documentation.
- Travel globally (approx. 25–40% during buildouts) for on‑site deployments and architecture reviews.

For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.
Base Compensation Range
$126,000—$170,000 USD

Senior Network Security Engineer role at Ahold Delhaize USA . Primary Purpose: A Senior Network Security Engineer will provide expertise and leadership in the design, configuration, and management of all corporate, distribution center and retail digital media devices and associated supporting services. They are expected to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment leveraging forward-thinking technical engineering expertise in the media device and services area of the enterprise.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Core office locations: Salisbury, NC; Chicago, IL; Quincy, MA; Carlisle, PA; Scarborough, ME; Mauldin, SC.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, troubleshooting and preparation of technology solutions to meet business needs
- Expert level hands-on and design experience on various security technologies including HPE Aruba Clearpass, Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls, Zscaler and Skybox Security
- Recommends components for solutions that will work well together across business domains, partner with domain architect or act as the domain architect to ensure adherence to the architectural roadmap
- Accountable for projects/applications/infrastructure meeting business needs are delivered in a timely, cost-effective manner considering all budget aspects including total cost of ownership
- Expert level knowledge in implementing PCI4.0
- Perform proper Root Cause Analysis for Major P1/P2 incidents and follow ITIL process
- Ensures project artifacts are developed as required, this includes working with support organizations and suppliers to ensure proper documentation is created and stored in the procedure's manual or document repository
- Facilitates/completes the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders
- Develops complete and robust test plans, cases, and scripts, ensures defects are properly resolved and user acceptance is obtained. Ensures the test scripts and defects are entered and tracked in our department tools
- Acts as communication point keeping the supplier and business partners informed of infrastructure changes, application changes, data changes or upcoming implementations and ensures business specific impacts are addressed
- Ensures integration and consideration of assigned business areas against critical business processing, freeze periods, schedule changes, weather events and significant refresh activities
- Thorough understanding of the business strategy, operations, markets, and key stakeholders
- Review's business processes to understand capability gaps and opportunities
- Recommends Innovations and business processes /systems simplifications
- Builds close relationships with the function heads and their teams. Advise these teams on how technology can be used to match or outpace competitor performance
- Works as 3rd level support to help resolve issues within area of responsibility
- Maintains a high level of individual contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively and independently, challenges others to do the same
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, CIS or related (or equivalent related work experience)
- 8 or more years of experience in relevant job or field of technology
- 5 or more years of equivalent experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly
- Experience, directly or indirectly, managing, guiding, training and onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities or skills
- Experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting in Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba ClearPass
- Master's Degree in relevant field of study, Additional trainings or certifications in relevant field of study
- Experience in Agile teams and or Product/Platform based operating model
- Experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting in Zscaler and Tufin firewall Orchestration
- Sound knowledge and exposure with PCI, HIPAA standards

- ME/NC/PA/SC Salary Range: $108,880 - $63,320
- IL/MA/MD Salary Range: 125,200 - 187,800
