Under the direction of an attorney, resolves routine legal issues, researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Loads, organizes, and processes incoming Electronically Stored Information (ESI), documents, and other discovery produced in Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) investigations and cases using automated software systems.
+ Assists in tracking, organizing, and managing documents in document review platforms such as Everlaw, Relativity and Eclipse. Performs a wide variety of tasks such as assisting and training Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and agents in gaining access to and using those platforms, creating complex searches and queries, creating tags, and assisting in production of documents from those databases; review and analyze documents in document review platforms, and then create written summaries or chronologies of those documents; and assist AUSAs with trial preparation and running trial presentation software.
+ Works with AUSAs, investigators, federal agents, and support staff to determine the most effective strategy to meet litigation needs.
+ Reviews and analyzes documents produced in discovery or in response to subpoenas and Civil Investigative Demands, including but not limited to creating queries, tagging documents, and writing up analyses, summaries, and chronologies of reviewed documents.
+ Reviews investigative reports, transcript testimonies, interview reports, ESI, and documents for a variety of civil cases to become familiar with the issues and identify pertinent material.
+ Assists and/or trains AUSAs, USAO support staff, investigators, and agents in organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing, and controlling of documents into a database. Ensures that documents are organized for efficient automated storage and retrieval by preparing appropriate indices, defining data file search criteria, and indexing/coding fields. Monitors the progress of computer data entry effort. Logs, organizes, and tracks all discovery and non-discovery materials using various software review programs (i.e., Everlaw, Eclipse, Relativity, Excel, Word).
+ Identifies software packages such as: databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications based on the effectiveness of presenting complex and voluminous evidence, producing graphic demonstrative evidence, and meeting individual user needs.
+ Uses software programs to assist AUSAs in presentations (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, CaseMap, Trial Director).
+ Prepares witness books, exhibit lists, witness lists, and exhibits for submission to court to be utilized at trial and hearings, and synchronization of exhibits with Trial Director for exhibition in the courtroom. When necessary, coordinates with vendors to ensure that exhibits are prepared in a timely fashion.
+ Performs work that involves communicating through visual means. Determines the placement and appearance of visual materials that will most effectively convey the information to the court, jury, and/or witnesses. Prepares photo boards, maps, charts, and other demonstrative exhibits required for litigation.
+ Uses Trial Director (or other trial presentation software) during trials. Prepares computerized trial presentation programs. Ensures computers and DVD/TV recording equipment is in place in courtrooms. Operates systems in the courtroom as needed. Troubleshoots all technical issues related to computerized presentation of exhibits.
+ Trains AUSAs, USAO support staff, and agency personnel on a wide range of court-related software and the use of such software prior to and during trial.
+ Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

+ **The Opportunity:** CACI is seeking a **Litigation Support Trainer,** this person will conduct in-person and remote trainings for government and contractor staff of key litigation support software, to include: Relativity, Trial Director, and proprietary project management applications. In coordination with project manager, develops training curriculum and assists users with using Relativity features. Must be willing to take initiative and perform under limited supervision. **Responsibilities:**
+ Usually reports to Application Manager or Project Manager.
+ Responsible for help desk and on-site support to end users of DOJ automated litigation support applications and related questions.
+ Assists in setting up and operating end-user support program for major applications in support of specific projects.
+ Sets up overall user training programs, particularly for complex applications and workflows which require active on-going training and support to ensure that they are being used effectively, but also for litigation support and office automation applications.
+ Sets up facilities and procedures to ensure responsive support.
+ Organizes, prepares, schedules and conducts training sessions as part of the training team.
+ Training will most often be user-level training for specific databases or specific software packages, including electronic review and analysis applications, task tracking, trial presentation and other office automation packages, but may sometimes also include team building training, contract/document center orientations, etc. Audience may include attorneys, paralegals, Government Case Managers, client agency staff, and/or other Contractor employees.
+ Prepares training approach and materials.
+ Arranges for use of training facilities, for access to appropriate applications, etc.
+ Oversees and manages customer inquiries, including answering and responding to user communications and troubleshooting litigation support packages.
+ Work closely with case teams and DOJ to design databases and establish workflows to support efficient document reviews, search and retrieval.
+ Assist and support users on Relativity and Trial Director.
+ Reports to Project Manager or Program Manager. **Qualifications:** _Required:_
+ At least two years of experience providing direct end-user support for the applications being supported, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users, is preferred.
+ Certain applications may require certification by the software provider.
+ At least one year teaching/training experience involving computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications preferred.
+ Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
+ Must have hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported.
+ At least one year of experience in automated litigation support preferred.
+ Experience with DOJ office automation environments extremely helpful.
+ Should be an expert user of MS Office.
+ Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
+ Undergraduate degree valued.
+ A DOJ MBI is required to begin employment.

+ Performs a variety of tasks associated with litigation of cases in assigned specialty area including: receiving and analyzing incoming pleadings and correspondence; determining appropriate action and notes time limitations for responses; drafting correspondence and legal documents for attorney's signature; drafting proposed orders and decrees for signature of judges and magistrates.
+ Assists in pretrial preparation by: preparing, scheduling, reviewing, and organizing discovery; notifying, interviewing, and managing witnesses; researching case law; supporting assigned attorney(s) in court proceedings by briefing attorney on pertinent facts, issues, and case law, and by compiling, organizing, and indexing exhibits.
The above mentioned duties may be performed as single functions or in combination with one another. One is expected to perform Senior Paralegal duties as defined by the contract
The pay for this position will be $30.10/hr.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Requires paralegal certificate, or Juris Doctorate, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
+ 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order).
+ At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
+ Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
+ Requires thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
+ Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
+ Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
+ Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications, valued.
+ Trial experience very helpful.
+ Experience with Relativity or similar applications, preferred.
+ Current or active clearance.
