ChampionX has an immediate need for a Petroleum Engineer for the Theta Artificial Lift Software Solutions and located in Houston, or Midland, TX .
As a Petroleum Engineer on the Customer Success Team, you will play a critical role in helping clients maximize the value of our production optimization software. You will act as a key technical advisor, leveraging your petroleum engineering expertise to support clients in managing their wells efficiently and effectively.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring data integrity and availability within the platform, identifying and resolving software issues, and proactively recommending improvements based on user feedback and operational insights. You will also provide hands-on training, troubleshooting, and technical guidance to users to help them optimize well performance and production workflows.
In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders translating complex oilfield operations and terminology into actionable insights to guide product development and enhance user experience.

What You Will Do:
Utilize your petroleum engineering experience to provide advice, training and technical support to clients on how to best manage their wells.
Ensure that production data is available and managed properly within the software to enable troubleshooting and optimization of production wells.
Be responsible for ensuring that our software is working as expected, self-identifying any bugs as well as suggesting any improvements.
Provide technical and application support to clients using our software to ensure client satisfaction with the tool
Work within a multi-disciplinary team of software developers and will need to share your understanding of oilfield terminology and practices with the rest of the team.
Translate client needs and requests into easily digestible tickets for product and software team to improve user experience with the tool
Collect and document client feedback with internal stakeholders using Salesforce so that we can improve our offering and maintain strong client relationships
Onboard new clients and provide in-person/remote training sessions where required
QA/QC of client data and report issues with data quality
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering
3 years of ESP optimization and or application experience in the oil and gas industry
Comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas production operations
Familiarity with Nodal Analysis software packages like PROSPER, Snap or PipeSim is favorable
Strong customer skills including the ability to present to customers and effectively explain and train.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal software systems)
Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in Artificial Lift applications
Working knowledge of Well Construction, Completions and Production Fundamentals
