Pediatric Psychology fellows have opportunities to provide patient care across our outpatient clinics and 9-story pediatric medical hospital. Time is devoted to the departments of Gastroenterology, Neurology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, and Rheumatology and fellows develop a strong working relationship within these interdisciplinary teams. Fellows carry a caseload of patients in each clinic while also providing inpatient services for the respective departments. Clinical work includes providing individual therapy and family sessions to support coping with chronic health conditions, coping with new medical diagnoses, psychological factors impacting medical treatment, adherence, coping with hospitalization, and other. Interest in program development, strong clinical skills, and relevant training experiences in a medical setting are desired.  A qualitative project will be chosen by the fellow at the start of the year and carried throughout.  

Projected start date is September 2024. Salary and benefits are competitive.

Job Description

Harbor is seeking a Psychology Assistant to join our Toledo team! This position provides psychological services under the direct supervision of a psychologist including administration, scoring and interpreting psychological tests and writing psychological reports. Previous experience in clinical and psychological testing preferred.

Position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements :

  • Minimum Master’s degree in psychology with previous experience/coursework in administration and scoring of tests required.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
  • When applicable, non-licensed staff will be required to complete 20 hours of CEUs every 24 months.
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties:

  1. Performs psychological duties under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist consistent with the individual’s training and experience.
  2. Demonstrates competency in the evaluation of children and/or adults through the administration scoring and interpretation of psychological tests. Assessments may include intellectual functioning, organic screening, behavioral profiles and personality profiles using the appropriate tool for the job.
  3. In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations established by Harbor.
  4. Completes all paperwork in a timely manner.
  5. Attends appropriate meetings and participates in committees as required.
  6. May float to other locations to accommodate client or agency need.
  7. Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.
