Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of transportation and logistics professionals. We are seeking a candidate to supervise drivers at one of our locations.
The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.
**Position Summary:**
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including people, systems, customer needs, equipment, etc.workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
**Schedule** : Wednesday - Saturday 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Hours may vary depending on business needs)
**Salary** : $54,900 - 72,700 - Position is bonus eligible up to 12% of the base salary
**Major Responsibilities:**
People
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives
- Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable
- Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Conduct team meetings
- Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch operations. Assist in new associate training
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
Finance
- Ensure compliance with financial policies & procedures such as tracking MPG, returns, damages, etc.
- Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
Safety
- Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy
- Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Conduct safety observations
Growth / Customer Experience
- Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily
- Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives
- Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
Fleet/Assets
- Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet equipment
- Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained
- Work with Penske Truck Leasing to ensure schedule of preventative maintenance is complete
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
**Job Qualifications:**

Amazon's Relay Operations Center (ROC) team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Specialist to assist in the resolution of stakeholder issues of daily freight movements flowing into and out of our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, and to have a positive impact on Amazon, our transportation partners and ultimately our customers. When network disruptions happen, you'll be at the forefront of helping the network/transportation partners clear those issues and ensure our customers get shipments on time. An ideal candidate has a background in customer service/call center, transportation, and/or supply chain environments. Additionally, a passion for quickly providing solutions and resolution to challenges by using strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills is a must. Successful candidates will enjoy working in a fast-pace, high-volume call center environment with a lot of growth opportunity. Key job responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding carrier and driver experience/solutions, in a high-volume contact center environment, through researching, problem-solving, setting appropriate expectations and working within the Amazon Transportation network to get trailers/trucks back on track when disruptions occur
  • Work in fast-paced environment, and adhere to schedules: start/stop, and breaks/lunches
  • Support workload surges and/or weather-related operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated high-volume peaks
  • Use internal systems to gather data from multiple sources to support reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis (AAP, Reach, Decisive)
  • Provide support to field teams and partners by creating repair requests, monitoring repair execution, ensuring on-time preventive maintenance, and maintaining unit history
  • Work with cross-functional teams. Use analytical skills to drive data-driven decision, and effectively communicate insights to others across Transportation Operations Management (TOM), Amazon Freight Partners (AFP), and Fleet
  • Provide support to drivers and carriers with over the road disruptions

Your calls will be monitored and recorded for training and compliance purposes.

Basic qualifications:

  • 1+ years of working with computers and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, and Excel) experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Are 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1+ year of call center experience in a high-volume environment

Position Summary: The opportunity:

  • Help with Configuration & setup of O9 Enterprise Modeler by creating, constructing, and modifying an Enterprise Planning Model
  • Experience with strategic planning, financial planning, medium-term, and tactical or operational planning within Supply chain management
  • A solid understanding of supply chain planning concepts, including network planning, Optimization, Distribution Planning, Master Planning, and Sales and operations planning (S&OP)
  • Experience with constraint-based planning, infinite planning, and rough cut capacity planning
  • Experience with the entire lifecycle of a supply chain planning solution implementation, including business requirement gathering, solution design & build, UAT/SIT, go-live/cutover, and value realization
  • Experience using agile methodology to deliver large-scale enterprise implementations
  • Experience in integrating multiple ERP systems and implementing an end-to-end supply chain solution

How will you impact WestRock:

  • Help WestRock Demand planning team improve forecast accuracy, system adaptability, and simplify business processes with demand planning architecture
  • Deliver key functional use cases for Supply Planning in the O9 Supply Planning tool
  • Configuring o9 for Constrained Plan, Master & Aggregate Supply Planning, Safety Stock, Transactional Data Flow, Plan Parameters, Requirements Plan, Capacity Planning
  • Monitor batch jobs and troubleshoot issues related to data and system bugs
  • Achieve BU reporting SLA's and recommend improvements on KPI's and delivery of these reports
  • Understand Planning Parameters, and their impact on the Supply Chain Solver (SCS) runs, O9 batch orchestration
  • Matching demand and Supply by using O9 Supply Chain Solver (SCS) by configuring SCS to execute the most efficient plan by adhering to the business priorities/rules such as Demand/Customer Priorities, Inventory Policies, and Demand Fulfilment

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience with supply chain planning tools like O9 IBP (preferred), JDA or SAP IBP, or Kinaxis
  • Experience in configuring planning levels, attributes, master data dimensions, and batch job management
  • Experience with gathering requirements and writing or reviewing FSD, KDD, and Solution design documents
  • Experience with expert understanding of demand planning, statistical forecast generation, aggregation, and disaggregation
  • Collaborate with project managers to document issues, risks, action items, and project team decisions from project meetings
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the new supply planning tools
  • Develop and execute projects to optimize supply chain operations and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Work with cross-functional teams, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of the project
  • Support end-user training
  • Identify and document data requirements needed to enable aligned to-be business processes, such as network planning, inventory, Optimization, logistics, and other operations/supply chain data
  • Analysis of necessary data from sources like ERP systems, Data Lake, Excel sheets, and others. Where data is not available, partner with WestRock business points of contact to create missing data elements
  • Support the Integration strategy and workshop sessions for O9 supply planning
