**Job Description: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)**
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, acute care environment. The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various units, including NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, emergency department, and adult acute and critical care settings.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' respiratory status and respond to emergencies as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Operate and maintain advanced respiratory equipment, including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, and others.
- Document patient care activities and outcomes in EMR (Epic) accurately and promptly.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in continuing education and staff training programs.
**Shift Information:**
- Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: Must be available to respond to emergency situations within 2 hours of notification.
**Qualifications:**
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred, NRP for NICU.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital or Level 1 trauma facility.
- Experience in NICU/PICU is preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to float to various units as needed.
**Equipment & Patient Ratios:**
- Patient Ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8.
- Equipment: Familiarity with various ventilators and respiratory devices is essential.

- Ideal candidates are flexible, team-oriented, and possess strong communication capabilities.

- Scrubs will be provided or are flexible based on departmental standards.

- Use imaging equipment to help the doctor detect and treat any heart and blood vessel issues in the patient.
- Execute any noninvasive course of action.
- Review the patient’s history and verify the medical order.
- Evaluate images by checking the quality of the image and the making sure that the area in question is included in the image.
- Be familiar with the differences from a normal image and an abnormal image.
- Communicate with the doctor the result of the image.
- Assist physicians in the performance of various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Electrophysiology Labs.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practiced guidelines.
- Delivers quality, cost effective patient care in a professional manner.
