Upon the order of a qualified provider, the Ultrasound Technologist utilizes equipment that employs high frequency sound waves for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Imaging services vary by location, therefore, performance of sonohysterography and/or vascular ultrasound may be required depending on assigned site. The Ultrasound Technologist will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and the designated Patient Archiving System (PACS).  May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties.

The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Upon the order of a qualified physician, the Lead Mammography Technologist will utilize equipment which produces ionizing radiation to obtain images for diagnostic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Equipment includes but is not limited to mammography and DEXA studies, in addition to general radiographic studies, fluoroscopic studies, ASC procedures, and/or SCNB procedures with designated Radiology Information System (RIS) and designated PACS system. Functions as a team leader, with appropriate attention to team development and success of department. May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by supervisor to perform those duties.

Required Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED. Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program

  • PACS and RIS

  • ARRT (R)(M) MRT-General Certificate

  • BLS through the American Heart Association

  • 3+ years in mammography or 1+ years KSC mammography and 1+ years in mammography quality control

  • Experience using Microsoft

  • Knowledge of mammography quality assurance measures and accreditation requirements

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associates in Applied Science-Radiology Technology

  • X-ray, DEXA and SCNB

  • Additional QM registry

  • Bilingual



The hourly range for this role is $34.42 to $67.60 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. Position is responsible for providing expert perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Position functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory; uses knowledge/expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.

Position must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served as well as knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.Job Description

Education: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program; or Licensed as an LVN in the State of Texas who has completed an internship; or Completed on the job training program as a surgical technologist
