**Position Summary**
The purpose of Associate Accountant position is to assist with general accounting of the organization including month end close and continuous process improvement.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform weekly domestic/international accounts payable payment run.
+ Assist with vendor payment relations as needed.
+ Perform all fixed and intangible asset tasks, rollforwards, and reconciliations.
+ Setup all prepaid expense schedules and reconcile related balance sheet accounts.
+ Reconcile inventory, monthly.
+ Compute and file sales and use tax.
+ Prepare other balance sheet reconciliations, including complex analysis.
+ Perform budget/forecast/actuals flux analysis on assigned P&L statements.
+ Assist with annual company domestic and foreign audits.
+ Assist with annual company domestic tax returns.
+ Assist with documentation of internal controls and process improvement.
+ Perform various other month end close responsibilities.
+ Perform and coordinate special projects as directed by management.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Our client, a prestigious accounting and consulting firm, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Forensic Accountant to join their specialized investigations team in Madison, Wisconsin, US . This role is critical for uncovering financial irregularities, investigating fraud, and providing expert testimony in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, auditing, and a proven ability to analyze complex financial data to detect and prevent financial misconduct.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct forensic accounting investigations into suspected fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, and other financial crimes.
  • Analyze financial records, transactions, and documents to identify discrepancies, patterns, and evidence of misconduct.
  • Develop and execute detailed audit and investigation plans tailored to specific cases.
  • Interview relevant parties, including employees, management, and external stakeholders, to gather information and corroborate findings.
  • Quantify financial losses resulting from fraud or other irregularities.
  • Prepare comprehensive forensic accounting reports detailing investigation findings, methodologies, and conclusions.
  • Assist legal counsel in litigation support, including discovery, evidence presentation, and expert witness testimony.
  • Develop and implement internal control recommendations to prevent future financial misconduct.
  • Stay current with evolving fraud schemes, investigative techniques, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards throughout all investigations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or CPA/CFF/CFE certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or forensic accounting.
  • Proven experience in conducting financial investigations and fraud detection.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and relevant legal frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience with litigation support and expert witness testimony is a significant advantage.
  • High degree of professional skepticism and integrity.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Madison, Wisconsin, US , and be available for occasional travel.
