We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to join The AI Governance team. This position will work closely with a cross functional team including AI leaders, Legal, compliance, ERM, THIP to identify requirements and implement an AI governance management system that will instrument the AI life cycle activities, sign offs, documentation, inventory and platform integrations.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT preferred) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. Must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the team through charter business case and high level scoping
+ Create program structure and forums to report on progress to various stakeholders
+ Conduct mark scan and vendor evaluations
+ Conduct proof of concepts to vet selected vendors and recommend a go forward approach
+ Design detailed requirements that achieve the AI life cycle activities and governance objectives in a way that is streamlined and creates process efficiency and transparency
+ Roll out the new platform and process enterprise wide and evolve with feedback
+ Develop a monitoring and adoption strategy
+ Change management and communications across multiple user communities in the organization
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field
+ 10+ years of experience leading large scale programs that involve technology and process optimization, with a wide set of stakeholders and users
+ 3+ years hands-on experience with AI/DS/ML projects
+ Demonstrated experience partnering with Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management functions
+ Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and associated governance challenges
+ Strong program management, change management and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in regulated industries (insurance, financial services, healthcare, etc.)
+ Experience in governance, risk management, or technology program management
+ Familiarity with AI governance frameworks

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

Position Overview
The Hartford is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President of AI Governance to lead the strategic development and implementation of comprehensive AI lifecycle frameworks. This role will ensure consistent execution of AI projects while maintaining safety, compliance, and regulatory adherence across the organization. Governance Process Implementation

Qualifications
