Position Overview:
At ama, the bar is the heart of the concept, and the Barback plays a vital role in ensuring that the energy, precision, and flow of service never falter. Supporting both the restaurant and lounge, the Barback is the backbone of the bar team, making it possible for bartenders to perform at the highest level. This role requires speed, organization, and a deep respect for the craft of bartending. The Barback will learn directly from master bartenders, gaining exposure to Italian-Japanese cocktail design and the artistry that makes the bar the centerpiece of ama.
Keep the bar fully stocked with spirits, wine, beer, mixers, and garnishes.
Replenish ice, glassware, and bar tools swiftly and efficiently during service.
Assist bartenders in mise en place, including preparing syrups, juices, garnishes, and other cocktail components.
Maintain bar areas in pristine condition, reflecting the chic and sexy atmosphere of ama.
Learn the cocktail menu and support bartenders in service delivery.
1–2 years of barback experience in cocktail-focused, lounge, or upscale restaurant environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy setting.
Physical stamina to lift, carry, and move stock and supplies.
