Responsibilities
AVP, Cloud Services is a strategic and firsthand leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide cloud initiatives. This role ensures the stability, security, and scalability of cloud platforms while driving innovation, optimizing cost, and aligning with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the organization's cloud strategy in alignment with overall technology and business goals.
- Lead cloud operations, including infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, cost management, monitoring, and support.
- Partner with architecture, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure cohesive cloud governance and adoption.
- Manage vendor relationships with AWS, Azure and third-party service providers.
- Establish cloud best practices, standards, and automation frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards across cloud environments.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of cloud engineers and specialists; mentor and develop talent.
- Monitor emerging technologies and trends to recommend improvements or innovation opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience in IT with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture, engineering, or operations.
- Strong firsthand experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven experience in leading cloud transformation initiatives in mid-to-large-scale environments.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD, automation, and containerization (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with budget management and vendor negotiations.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO, SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR.
- Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
