+ Support Better, Smarter, Faster & Lean Transformation efforts as a Kaizen team participant and assist with the completion of post-Kaizen activity/assignments as appropriate.(10%)
+ Submits test requests and actively engages with the testing group as necessary on any required follow-up. Submits prototyping requests and works directly with the model shop for the production of prototypes and assembly of samples. Reviews functional specifications, project charters, and competitors' samples.(5%)
**Skills and Minimum Experience Required**
+ Understands engineering fundamentals. The ability to communicate verbally, in written form and through sketches, and engineering drawings.
+ Proficient use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM software (preferably Windchill), as well as Microsoft Office and related tools.
+ Proficient in LEAN methodology and practices such as standard work, cause & effect, and other tools of DMAIC.
+ Works well in cross-functional team environments.
+ Possess understanding of manufacturing methods such as stamping, drawing, casting, extruding of metals and plastics.
+ Leadership, to influence and enlist the cooperation of other team members to work towards the goal of completing and implementing new product development on time, and in budget.
+ Knowledge of UL / CSA and testing processes is a plus.
+ Understand and adhere to the appropriate established industry and safety Standards.
**Education Required**
+ Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
**Experience Required**
+ 3 to 5 years
**Physical Requirements**
+ Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of forces frequently, and /or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
**Travel**
+ Domestic (USA) and Mexico -up to 10%.
**The range for this position is $83,300.00 to $149,900.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
