As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Acuity, you create and sustain next-generation, energy-efficient, intelligent, wired and wireless lighting control systems for commercial and industrial applications. **Job Summary**
Responsible for product development from concept through production, which includes new product, sustaining and resolution of field problems. Leads electro-mechanical product design and/or redesign, part assembly and detailed part drawings. Leads prototyping, testing, and assembly of samples. Leads various Product Design/development projects. Must be able to collaborate with all cross-functional members of the design team.

+ Actively participates in, or lead on occasion, team meetings using the product delivery system (stage gate product development) for each major product.(10%)
+ Initiates and develops concepts for new products from Project Charters, and Specification Matrix provided by the Product Manager and other avenues such as reviewing competitor's samples and documentation, and free design techniques. Ensures concepts are agreeable with standard manufacturing methods utilized in the appropriate manufacturing facility.(15%)
+ Continuously looks to improve processes related to productivity, quality, purchasing and manufacturing; to include sourcing new or alternate processes, equipment, and/or training of manpower. Looks for advancements or changes in technology via tradeshows, vendors, or other methods.(10%)
+ Support Better, Smarter, Faster & Lean Transformation efforts as a Kaizen team participant and assist with the completion of post-Kaizen activity/assignments as appropriate.(10%)

**Skills and Minimum Experience Required**

Any unsolicited resumes sent to Acuity Inc. from a third party, such as an Agency recruiter, including unsolicited resumes sent to an Acuity Inc. mailing address, fax machine or email address, directly to Acuity Inc. employees, or to Acuity Inc. resume database will be considered Acuity Inc. property. Acuity Inc. will NOT pay a fee for any placement resulting from the receipt of an unsolicited resume.
Acuity Inc. will consider any candidate for whom an Agency has submitted an unsolicited resume to have been referred by the Agency free of any charges or fees. This includes any Agency that is an approved/engaged vendor, but does not have the appropriate approvals to be engaged on a search.
