RESPONSIBILITIES
Production
Executes the process of assembly, filling, labeling & packaging equipment of varying complexity and in accordance with production manufacturing records, operating procedure requirements to produce finished intermediates, instruments, and final kits while meeting production targets.
Performs basic transactions within highly complex systems and controls in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. receive, process, build product/materials, facilitate material availability, SAP transactions/confirmations).
Contributes to daily end of shift reports and pass downs.
Safety and Quality
Maintains Right to Operate and ensures that all processes are performed in a safe and healthy manner; Addresses and escalates any potentially unsafe hazards; Provides feedback during investigation of safety hazards, incidents and near misses using safety reporting tools.
Performs tasks/transactions in the quality system to ensure we achieve our quality objectives.
Understands the expectations of audit readiness (OSHA, FDA, QSR, GMP, ISO, etc.); may be required to answer questions about processes on the spot.
Maintains accurate and complete system transactions ensuring material traceability, and inventory accuracy (e.g. receipt, storage, issuance of materials, and other inventory transactions).
Provides feedback on Client investigations, reworks, and corrective actions.
Adheres to 95% or above internal training compliance.
Continuous Improvement
Performs 6S activities, gathers/meets cycle times and develops/follows standard work; identifies and implements process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean tools.
Participates and contributes in shop floor tier meetings.
Teamwork and Collaboration
Proactively collaborates with peers in other shifts/functions to ensure daily targets are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS
H.S. Diploma Required
Associates Degree Preferred
EXPERIENCE
2 years of relevant work experience required.
Preferred relevant work experience in GMP environment.
Preferred experience with automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment.
Preferred experience with validated software systems used to maintain Quality, Inventory, and Processes.
Preferred familiarity with sensors, motors, cylinders, etc., and with use of hand tools and test equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement.
Preferred experience with Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDoc, etc).
Preferred experience with SAP.
Ability to read, write and comprehend English.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:

Responsibilities
- Prepares and processes surgical, autopsy, bone marrow, body fluids, and biopsy specimens for gross and microscopic examination by a pathologist. Prepares frozen sections of surgical specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. Prepares solutions for stains and special procedures. Performs the more advanced and specialized histology techniques.
- Performs preventive maintenance on common instruments and keeps records of maintenance as prescribed. Understands and performs basic quality control: identifies quality control problems, participates in quality assurance monitors.
- Assures that results are satisfactory for pathological examination. Demonstrates pro-active problem solving skills to include identifying a problem and taking appropriate action; knows when to seek guidance to complete troubleshooting protocol; communicates necessary information to Team Leader or Manager.
- Acts as a resource to customers, both within the department and outside the department. Accepts responsibility for own development to include cross-training in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department or to permit flexible staffing assignments.
- Reviews, updates, writes histology laboratory procedures.
- Answers telephones, communicates verified test results by phone, types procedures, files paperwork and slides, faxes documents, and performs data entry/retrieval as may be required, assists with inventory of supplies.
- Degree: Certificate.
- Certification: Histopathology Technicians shall be certified or eligible for certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and certified within 2 years from the date of hire.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- Experience: One year of experience as specified in the TO.

Job Responsibility
- * Performs procedures necessary for the processing specimens for microscopic histological examination including performing gross examination and dictation of biopsy and non-complex surgical specimens requiring indirect supervision by a Pathologist.
- * Assist pathologist in performing procedures necessary for the processing and interpretation of frozen section specimens.
- * Assists physicians to perform Fine-Needle-Aspiration (FNA) procedures
- * Utilizes computer systems for processing Histology and/or Immuno-histo-chemistry specimen information according to departmental procedures.
- * Notifies Supervisor of problems and unusual specimens as they occur
