Job Description
An applicant must apply in either the post-baccalaureate scholar, graduate student, medical student, graduate & medical student or postdoctoral category. The applicant does not need to apply for a specific award; the committee will make awards that are appropriate for the career stage of the applicant.
Selected Prize winners will each present a lecture OR a poster on their research at the Young Investigators' Day ceremony and reception. All winners must be present at Young Investigators' Day to receive an award. All research prizes carry a $1,000 honorarium.
The YIDP committee reserves the right to rescind an award if the recipient is found to have committed professional or research misconduct.
Eligibility Requirements:
The awards are intended to recognize research undertaken by applicants while registered as students, postdoctoral fellows or medical scientists in training at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Clinical research projects are eligible. Applicants should apply in one of the following categories:
Post-baccalaureate Scholars:
Students must be registered in a post-baccalaureate training program in The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine at the time the application is submitted.
Graduate Students/Medical Students:
Students must be registered in a training/graduate program in The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to be eligible to apply. Applicants who graduated before September 1, 2024 are not eligible.
Postdoctoral Fellows:
Postdoctoral fellows must be registered in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to be eligible to apply. Clinical fellows from basic science departments and clinical departments in the School of Medicine, and house staff from the Johns Hopkins Hospital are eligible. Applicants who have left Hopkins before September 1, 2024 are not eligible. Postdoctoral applicants who have left Hopkins prior to September 1, 2024 are not eligible. Postdoctoral applicants who have been promoted to Research Associate (non-tenure track faculty) are eligible if their total time as a postdoctoral researcher does not exceed 7 years. An individual can only win a Student or Postdoctoral award on one occasion.

Requesting a Letter of Recommendation:

Add your sponsor's name to the "Recommender's box" and then click on "add them". This will open a box where you can insert your sponsor's Name and Email Address. Then click "Add". Scroll down to the "Message to Recommender". You may add any personal request to your letter writer here. Then click "Send Request". Then click "Return to your Application". Fill out the following 3 pages as instructed with your personal information.
Once you have completed the application and added your documents you will be able to submit your application by clicking on "Submit Delivery" on the bottom left of the Review page.
1. The applicant's CV should list institutions attended, degrees or certifications earned, research presentations, and original research publications (names of all authors, title of report, and name of journal). List published abstracts similarly in a separate category.
2. The abstract should not exceed 250 words.
3. Essays, including figures but not references, must not exceed four single-spaced pages in 12 pt. Times font. A maximum of two figures and their legends may be included, but the entire essay including figures must not exceed four pages. Figure legends should be in 9.pt Times font. The essay should be in the form of a report (for example, for the journals Science or Nature). The introductory paragraph should describe the context and importance of the work. Applicants are strongly encouraged not to submit text that is taken verbatim from their publications, rather, the entire document should be written in a fashion suitable for a broad scientific audience. It is not a requirement to have published the work that is presented in the essay. Many prior winners had mature work that was not yet published. 4. All submissions must be accompanied by a recommendation letter submitted directly by the faculty sponsor that critically evaluates the contribution and role of the applicant in the research. This letter is also due at 11:59 PM, February 17, 2025. Evidence of the applicant's originality and independence are of particular importance. The letter should include a percentile ranking of the applicant compared to others at similar stages in their academic careers. For applicants whose projects are collaborative and result in papers with multiple authors, recommendation letters should comment explicitly on the applicant's individual contribution to the entire study. Organizational Expectations:
As a law enforcement unit officer, you will observe, study, and assist Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officers to learn the job skills required to enforce federal laws and Federal Reserve policies and regulations to protect life, property, and assets. Work Environment
This is primarily an office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. SUMMARY
Responsible for processing open records requests for police related records. Provide customer service through various means of communication. Process open records requests, logs and maintains the requests in a database. Redacts reports, views, and listens to and redacts audio, video, and case photos.
