Essential Job Responsibilities

The LEO is responsible to manage the security operations of our client's properties during a particular shift which includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Coordinate emergency resources when necessary and provide direction and informational updates to the twenty-four (24) hour Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC)
  • Prepare detailed Incident Reports
  • Act as the point of contact for the NYPD and FDNY upon their arrival on campus
  • Direct personnel changes during the shift and adjust posts as necessary
  • Oversee the deployment of officers assigned to special events to ensure a safe environment.
  • Assist the Director of Security with developing, coordinating, managing and communicating the security plan and, through proactive leadership, engage the security staff to maximize the efficiency of the operation
  • Respond to all emergencies, fire alarms, criminal events, medical issues and news worthy incidents and provide direction to our staff while coordinating the responding emergency services response via the JSOC

You have:

  • 3+ years experience investigating suspicious actors and behaviors on a gaming, social media, or other relevant platform, to include OSINT investigation. 
  • 2+ years experience working with data tools such as SQL and data visualization (e.g. Tableau) tools.

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Law Enforcement Officer Trainee - Boca Raton, FL.
Responsibilities:
+ Provides safety and security presence for university property by application of conscientious vehicle, bicycle and foot patrol functions on a 12 hour shift basis.
+ Responds and investigates crimes reported, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, fires, safety hazards, fire and security alarms received and all other occurrences within the scope of the department's responsibilities and mission. Prepares departmental, county and state forms as required.
+ Enforces applicable University policies, State Criminal Code and Statutes governing state traffic laws. Issues appropriate citations, student referrals and/or effects arrests as necessary in the performance of these law enforcement duties.
+ Renders informational services to members of the University community and visitors, assists motorists experiencing vehicle problems, provides dignitary protection, and handles traffic control and parking directions for a variety of educational, cultural and athletic events held on campus.
+ Conducts security and safety checks of university buildings, student housing and university grounds. Secures and opens buildings at scheduled times and upon request of authorized persons. Provides a university crime prevention function through CEPED, active shooter training, and other safety related programs.
+ Performs all other duties as directed or as necessary which are similar and related assignments.

High school diploma or equivalent and 0-1 year of law enforcement experience required.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter 943 of the Florida Statutes.
Must be at least 19 years of age and a U.S. citizen and be able to pass physical and psychological examinations, a rigorous background investigation and not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor.
Ability to work in stressful and sometimes hazardous conditions.
Ability to safely operate a patrol vehicle and emergency equipment.
Ability to grasp criminal and traffic laws and to make sound decisions.
Ability to exercise restraint and tact with all members of the University community and the general public.
Ability to physically and mentally satisfy state and departmental training requirements.
Ability to effectively work without direct supervision.
