What you'll do:

SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician will support production operations and manufacturing engineers by directly interfacing with team members and fielding questions, will heavily contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong electrical knowledge, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a proactive, data orientated mindset.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following reflect the essential functions for this position but do not restrict the tasks that may be assigned based upon changing business conditions:

• Guide complex component fabrication or rework based on technical specifications
• Review technical documentation (design info, BOM specs, process sheets, technical publications) and provide guidance to engineering and manufacturing
• Work with production associates and manufacturing engineers to resolve manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvement projects
• Create and modify fabrication process sheets and drawings
• Manage CAD models, flat patterns, and nests for fabricated components
• Assist manufacturing engineering in data collection activities such as time studies and cycle time studies
• Modify plant layout drawings in planning for new production lines or changes in production location
• Able to write clear and effective work instructions
• Apply electrical knowledge of automotive 12-volt systems and circuits
• Install various automotive electrical components fluently and accurately
• Demonstrate understanding of industry-wide quality standards for electrical systems
• Use fixture tools effectively in manufacturing and assembly processes
• Exhibit strong on-the-spot problem-solving skills
• Be a self-starter with high motivation and initiative
• Understand and apply lean manufacturing principles

What you need to be successful:

QUALIFICATIONS:
• HS Diplomas or GED required, Associates degree preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years hands on manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of/ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer expectations and regulatory requirements
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCad, and Microsoft Excel a plus
• Understanding of basic manufacturing and fabrication processes and materials
• Able to assist engineering with troubleshooting of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Perform as manufacturing engineering assistant as needed
• Capable of developing standardized work instructions for manufacturing
• Desire to grow current skill set and expand capabilities

Summary:

The purpose of the Engineering Technician is to be responsible for manufacturing quality products efficiently, accurately, safely and on time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical and electrical issues in conjunction with the manufacturing processes in assembly and provides general support to the manufacturing team.
  • Provides CNC support with tramming spindles, cutting/trimming jaws and dimensional issues.

  • Monitors, audits, and complies with Lock-Out/Tag-Out safety policy for all plant activities.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, CNC), and conducts studies to reduce/eliminate common defects, then recommends necessary process changes, and implements changes with minimal direction.
  • Provides gaging support for assembly, working with Quality, troubleshoots measurement/gaging issues.
  • Develops countermeasures to respond to customer initiated corrective actions.
  • Drives lean improvement activity in the areas of changeovers, kaizen activity related to machining.
  • Strictly follows company procedures, safe working practices and policies.
  • Identifies reports and recommends corrective actions for any unsafe conditions or inefficient processes to Supervisor and/or Value Stream Management.

Critical Competencies:

  • Must have knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) when handling materials and/or chemicals.
  • Ability to set up/calibrate equipment/instruments based on Engineering/Customer requirements.
  • Understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Job Title: | Tube Line - Manufacturing Lead

Reports To: | Assembly Manager

Summary:
The Tube Line Manufacturing Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing welding and tube fabrication operations, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role involves close collaboration with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of components, as well as partnership with Quality and Safety teams to maintain compliance and uphold standards. The Manufacturing Lead will guide and support weld teams on the pontoon tube line, driving daily SQDCP metrics and 5S initiatives, leading process improvement efforts, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. This hands-on leadership position is critical in minimizing defects, reducing downtime, and improving throughput across welding and fabrication operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Process Improvement
    • Evaluate existing welding processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
    • Develop and optimize welding and tube fabrication processes, tools, and equipment to improve efficiency and consistency.
    • Lead and implement process improvement projects to reduce cycle times, scrap, and rework.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Partner with the Quality team to establish and uphold weld quality standards for pontoon tube production.
    • Conduct root cause analysis on weld or fabrication defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with design engineering to ensure welded tube components meet specifications and are practical for production.
  • Technical Support
    • Provide hands-on technical guidance and training to welders and fabrication teams.
    • Troubleshoot welding and fabrication challenges, implementing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Health and Safety
    • Enforce safe work practices and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture; participate in audits and improve safety procedures.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Weld Quality Defect Rate: Percentage of welds that fail quality inspections or require rework due to defects.
  • Production Throughput Efficiency: Number of pontoon tubes or components produced per shift/day versus planned production targets.
  • Implementation of Process Improvements: Number of successfully completed process improvement initiatives (e.g., cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, etc.) per quarter.
